Wakan Tanka

2011, 80 minutes

This powerful film will unite environmental and First Nations elders with youth to address climate change

'Wakan Tanka', meaning in the First Nation Lakota Sioux language "Great Spirit", will explore how we can embrace the knowledge of our elders to address climate change and bring a message of hope to humankind, in particular youth. The stories of grandparents, great-grandparents and other elders who have committed the remainder of their lives to stopping global warming are instructional and inspirational. The camera will capture these elders’ pain, concern and love for their progeny and our planet.
