Agents Location?

Hi all

I'm hoping for a little advice. I am starting the mega push for a new agent, I've got some work around currently so its definitely a good time! I've contacted all the usual London based ones but just wondering, does it matter where the agent is based? I am living in London but with a North East voice. Would an agent based elsewhere just use a London studio for any work or would I need to live where they are? To my mid it wouldn't matter, but I don't want too start looking further afield for no reason!

Any help appreciated!
Emma

Cast your net wide, Emma! Where you live has become less relevant nowadays as so much can be done remotely. Do you have a home studio? If so then that broadens your horizons even more. You can lose nothing by reaching out to other agencies anyway, just be selective by researching thoroughly who, and what, they are looking for. Good luck.

Most pro VOs I see on FB seem to rep themselves, rather than through an agency and also seem to work from home (with a few hiring studios on an as-needed basis). I see a few ‘pay to play’ websites mentioned as well, when looking for work.
