Hi.
I’m a returning actress. Don’t have enough credits to get on spotlight! Any advice on how to get credits?
Thanks

From the looks of your mandy profile you have enough credits. Put everything you have ever done on the application even if it says not to and you should get on. If not use sites like mandy, starnow, backstage and shooting people to find jobs. (not just the paid work try the opportunities page too) hope this helps. Good luck

I disagree with Ria, it looks like you have worked but not quite got the right qualifying credits but I noticed you did productions at Laine. If you did a full time course there you can use that as proof of professional training.

If not keep your else oeeled for castings on Twitter and keep applying for BAFTA qualifying short films, its definitely a lengthy process.

Thanks guys. I have spoken to spotlight & my credits aren’t right! I trained at laines but it’s not collage degree so can’t get on with that or SYTS.
I keep applying for work on Mandy but not getting anywhere. Going to get myself a showreel done soon so hopefully that will help. What Twitter pages can I follow for castings?

Basically any and all casting directors. People like Kharmel Cochrane, Leanne Flinn and Tree Petts often put castings on Twitter but they are predominantly for commercials however they cast qualifying stuff so get in the door with them and it could lead to more. Also follow the Casting Directors Association as they post some castings too. Also the Support British Actors account has a LOT of info on their too that could be useful.

Lauren... thank you so much. Any more information you have I would love to hear! Is there any acting course I can take to get credits? Also how do I find auditions for BAFAT movies?

Not sure which courses are Spotlight accredited but I am pretty sure they have a list of them on their website. I'm pretty sure it would have to be at least a year course at an accredited school.

In terms of BAFTA qualifying shorts, you would have to ask when auditioning if they planned to submit them to BAFTA qualifying festivals and even then they need be shortlisted for one of those festivals to count.

@JBRAgent on Twitter is doing a talk this weekend about self repping so maybe sign up to that as he is very knowledgeable about these things
