HI, I was in a showcase last week which went very well and I had great responses from people that came. I know that 3 agents came. I am wondering what is the best way to follow up on this should I call them? and Ifso what the best way to go about this? Thanks Sarah x

Hi, As an agent (whose books are closed at the moment) I would suggest that you email the agents that came and remind them about you. Emails are always better than phoning, you could ring when they are really busy and they will only half listen to you.

good luck

Hi Sarah,
I would ring them up and follow up with a gentle E-mail reminder so that you remain in their minds. These days I think persistence pays off.
Wish you all the best.

Bern, sorry don't agree, you can easily become a nuisance and emails will be deleted without reading through. An intial email allows us to look at your CV and show reel (if you have one) at lesuire and phone calls can block the phone lines, and in this case the fact they have seen you I'm sure will get them to have a closer look at your profile

Hi Peter,
That's fine and I hear what you are saying. However, I still stand by what I said, perhaps taking onboard part of your comment, I would do it in the following order ; email first, then if no response, I would follow up with a gentle phone call reminder.
Thanks Bern

Hi Simon, it would just be a very brief email reminding them of you etc and about the showcase. As Peter rightly pointed out, agents are usually really busy, so I'd keep the e-mail short and sweet :)
Thanks

Hi Sarah...

I tend to agree with the "email approach".

Whether the agents that came to your showcase were invited by you or not I would suggest that you send a quick email thanking them for attending and, if they are agents that you would like to be represented by, enclose a small email-sized photo, CV and your telephone number and a short sentence such as "I would very much like to meet you to discuss representation. Is that possible?"

I believe fully in the "emailing" system of approach and I have never sent out hard copy photos for hundreds of years...lol!

Good Luck!

We agree with Peter Sheldrake. We receive over 150 applications per week and if each one called us we wouldn't have time to do our job. We also only accept email applications -which is cheaper for Actors to make contact and easier for us to manage.
