Would you benefit?

this is just an idea at this stage - but would anyone on CCP benefit from having an evening where you can come to our studios and meet a casting director - a couple of assistant directors, a former editor and an agent and photographer? - you could then ask what questions you need answering and get information previously withheld from you.

if we get enough interest we could set something like this up 1 night per month as a way of networking and giving advice.

the studios are based in leeds - so it may only be of use for northern artistes - but all welcome to comment or come to see us.

i look forward to your comments

I have been reading the FBI agency comments and have been thankful for their businesslike and commen sense approach.

Us Southeren b......s wont all want to get up to the Leeds area ....but I would hope this could restart a worthwhile trend, worthwhile for everyone. Dare I ask....are the actors expected to pay for this?

Yes. I also need a new head shot so finding a photographer who understands the business would be very useful too.

in response to some questions may i say - firstly this will be TOTALLY FREE! - there will be no costs, no hidden costs and no other costs! free!

i want to do this as my small way to try to improve our industry, and hopefully give some people a better insight. The evening will be beneficial to beginners and experienced artistes of all ages. - If people like what we do, i would be prepared to do one of these down south !

As soon as i have enough interest - i will post some suggested dates!

I'd definitely be interested in something like this. And I'm in the midlands so north or south is fine for me!

It sounds a smashing idea. Based as I am in the throbbing cultural metropolis that is Birmingham, however, I'm being drawn more and more to the conclusion that London really is where it's all at!

Well I have just tried ringing FBI and all I got was a recorded message asking me to leave - a message.

It was only after I rang the number, that the penny dropped...

That I had just spent up to 50p for that call. That the number was in fact a premium call number; not at local/national call rates.

The only agencies that I have come across that do this type of thing - were those scamming performers.

Now I thought FBI were one of the legitimate agencies, but I now have my doubts. I have just spent up to 50p to try and congratulate them. I have to say that I no longer wish to do so. I want my up-to 50p back!

If the agency is not honest enough to tell performers on their website and on here, that they are charged up to 50p minimum, for a call to an answering machine; then they are being - less than honest.

I thought I was ringing a mobile number, not a premium number. I feel tricked and am certainly not happy with this unfair practice.

I give out my mobile number and every legitimate agency I know, offers a mobile number.

With BT etc there is a service that forwards a land line etc to any other number, it is quick and easy to set up and takes just seconds to key in. So there is no excuse to charge a premium.

I would ask Castingcallpro to ensure that such numbers carry a warning, that members will be charged up to 50p per call. It is a money making operation - especially when I get through and all I get - is an answering machine!

    Shame...

    in response to clives comments!

we are NOT a scam agency - and resent being called one!

the 07050 222 747 number a global number which ports to which ever phone i am using! - ~Im sure clive would understand that during one day i call so many people that i am unable to make one battery last - so i often switch phones - and when i do, i divert my 07050 number to which ever phone im using, so i dont lose work or contact!

I can only assume that clive either called the wrong number - or i was on the phone at the time and it went to a voicemail - something that happens to lots of other phones!- and no one suggests they are a rip off>

for clarity - we do not make one single penny from the global number, which does cost more! - callsure take the extra costs for the service! - if clive takes the time to stop being so cynical - and maybe call back - or call my personal mobile on - 07515 567 309 (O2 charges apply) then i will happily explain this in full to him!

I think this shows the state of the UK industry today - it appears no one trusts anyone , and too many people are ready to look for the bad in people in stead of taking time to find the good!

im offended by him accusations - if anyone else wants to discuss this matter with me - call me!

my company has been running for 11 years - blamelessly! - i have hundreds of clients and happy talent!
