    Hi all,

I have been asked to prepare 2 contrasting monologues (not too long) but for TV/Film not theatre. The only film/tv auditions I have previously had have been to read the script for the audditioning production so don't have any in my 'stores'. Any suggestions?

    Thanks loads in anticipation!

It depends what sort of thing you are going for, and what they mean by 'not too long'; in stage terms, something not too long might be seen as interminable on film. But have a look at Valerie in Road, by Jim Cartwright, which can be done very small and filmic to very good effect, it's brutal but poetic language, and a real despairing downer if you have something suaver, or more upbeat to contrast.

scritorama is really good! When choosing think about the charateristics of the character rather then just choosing a happy and then a sad monologue like a very difnified character and then a character that is easily intimedated!
