Alex perhaps I dont get your sense of humour but Sabine was only asking a question and I dont think that it merits someone preaching about using common sense and how you are going to do the thinking for her. The Green Room is about discussion and helping each other out which in your e-mail you eventually did and that was good of you.

    i agree,

a very harsh and unnecessary tone to the answer. not everyone one knows what to do get certain auditions. it's not the end of the world that they don't.

we're all supposed to be helping each other.

...point taken Alex, we can only help ourselves but it's nice to help others too when we can! BTW Sabine, Casualty audition at BBC Elstree Studios too...good luck with your quest!

    Hi,

Thanks for the help.I asked because I was not sure whether Casualty casting directors were the sort that would accept a C.V and showreel in the post or whether they were the sort that would be annoyed by that,I thought maybe someone had experiance with them.I also tracked down 3 different names and addresses and didnt konw which were right or current.

Your right, people do get ahead in this business by using their heads and through hard work chasing leads, keeping contact details fresh and doing their homework. But they also get ahead through the help, advice and support of others so dont knock them.

There are people on CCP who are at all different stages of their career. Some starting out and some more experienced. Take that into consideration when judging people.

I have to say I'm supporting Alex on this one, it isn't difficult to find this info out and as a professional, one should be able to figure out the resources. However I'm sure he didn't mean anything harsh by pointing that out, and I'm sure no offense was meant, nor from me!

I see that it isnt hard once you know how.And now I know how, thanks to more experianced people telling me.But we arnt all born with the knowledge of how this industry works.I wasnt sure whether it was acceptable just to take the name off the credits and contact them.Which it seems it is.Ive never done tv work.I wasnt being lazy,I just wanted informal advice from fellow actors, which I thought was one of the things this forum was for

Absolutely Sabine, not having a go. If you're not sure, ask, that of course makes sense. I think perhaps it just came across as having not done your research that's all. But it's all good and best of luck getting a casting!
