Hi All,

Wow this is so cool! I'm going for the audition next Sunday and just realised all you guys have done it! Congrats!!

I was going to pick an Antigone or Medea monologue, but looks like they're all tried and tested now. :-)

Alan, I was told to prepare a monologue from Antigone, Medea or Oedipus Rex, so Shakespeare is out I think! I would have loved to pick a Shakespeare piece, don't really fancy doing a Jocasta at present...

Yes, varied translations make such a difference, some are easier to reel off than others...I'm trying to get the best ones, but I can't get the Antigone version I want!!

Aarrghh...(grinding of teeth)

Ava.

Try David Corden's link. Although it came a bit late for me it has all the speeches you could need.
Good luck with it.

Hello All,

Just doing the final preperations for tommorrows audition. Can anyone tell me how long the audition runs for? Also does anyone know a little more info about the tour itself? I have only been in contact by email with the company and do not know very much about the actual tour? so any knowledge would be much appreciated. Beginning to think I should never have chosen Antigone its obviously a favourite, Mind you I love the character to what the hell :)

I hope you enjoy the trip, Corrine!
The audition duration is pretty flexible. They are very nice and patient people (unlike Southern Super Castings) and will give you all the time you need to put over your piece and chat about things. The tour lasts about three months in total with new dates coming on their schedule every day. So I'm sure that one thing they will be looking for is an ensemble who will get on with each other and be professioal together for a long run.
In hard work situations any petulance can upset the applecart and ruin the show. So be pleasant! But most of all be yourself!

Hi Alan,

Thanks. Sorry what is David Corden's link? Is there one on his website cos I haven't seen it. Did you mean David Corden the actor?

Cheers,
Ava.

Thanks Alan! I found it!

I've decided in the end to do a Medea speech for the audition. It's a challenge, but there is so much awesome power in Greek tragedies, it's great!

Cheers,
Ava.
