i need a suitable "baddie" song for an audition. needs to be something i can download a backing tape for and learn pretty quickly as audition is at the weekend. something i can growl and shout rather than "sing" lol Thanks!

Elvis's 'Trouble' has always served me well! You can talk the verses rather than sing them if you prefer and cos it's a continual vamp you can mess about quite a lot. I'd recommend singing full out once you get to the chorus though!

    Hope it goes well,

    Elvis looking for trouble works....agreed.

    Try M Jackson "Im Bad"

Also look at Bill Sykes from OLIVER: "My Name" which would be the one I'd go for I think! Good talking opportunities and chances to show how nasty you are.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvnINNY2FWk&feature=related on you tube and also karaoke versions probably there as well somewhere!

I'd agree with Mark on this one "My name" from Oliver! will be perfect for an audition and should be easy to get a backing track I sang it in the rarely performed panto Robinson Crusoe at Princes hall aldershot in the 80's.

I like "I hate people" too from Leslie Bricusse's Scrooge :-) "people are despicable creatures loathsome inexplicable creatures, good for nothing kickable creatures I hate people" etc etc!

definitely 'I put a spell on you' from Hocus Pocus. I have been in panto several times and this has been used each time. I have also actually played the baddie and sang this! It is so easy to change words to suit too! Good Luck!!

So anyone got a suggestion for a girl baddie song? Got audition on Monday that I need sheet music for! So gotta be something that I kinda know already. Was thinking perhaps 'poor unfortunate souls' from the Little Mermaid???

Definitely 'Poor Unfortunate Souls' is a great choice! 'Good & Evil' from Jekyll & Hyde is also a good one. As I wrote above, I usually do 'Trouble' which always goes down well. Good luck!
