    Hi, I have too but I've just been warned off of the company by another casting website and told not to audition until they check out whether it is genuine.

    Is this the documentary reenactments showing the abuse of females during war filming in France and Hungary I've been reading a whole load of warnings about!!

    Yes! That's it! Requires nudity and scenes of sexual nature. And says it may require nudity at the audition. Is this odd? (ps it is supposed to be an Equity job)

    Nudity at an audition?!

    If a CD needs to see you strip off and perhaps a little more importantly, YOU are wanting to strip off, then please read through the many other threads and don't feed these people what they want.

    Steer well clear...

    oh my god. I had an email from Mandy.com yesterday warning me not to go. I had an audition of which I declined because they said the scences required violent sexual porn like material and I would have to be bound and gagged and abused by soldiers... I would advise against going. I declined their offer... check out mandy if your unsure

    i have been getting emails from this company since november last year. they asked for increasingly dodgy things (nude pics etc) but advised they couldnt reveal more about the plot/story boards/script as they didnt want the idea pinched by the history channel. I got told all different things by them, my agent got involved and took over the contact as it was all getting too much.

    The audition details they set me also kept changing but i was advised no phones to be taken to audition (!?) and also to choreograph a 3 min dance sequence.. to which i thought, ok fine, until they sent me some pics for " inspiration" which turned out to be girls in sparkly thongs jiggling their goodies.. at this point i said thanks but no thanks and they went even more dodge and said if i wasnt going to audition then they didnt want to see any of the other girls in my agency.. very manipulative

    I got lots of emails that the casting people at sinclair studios were " sending to each other" about me that im pretty sure were all set up so i'd think they were all rooting for me to be cast? All very strange.

    id love to know whats going on! Forbes what info have you seen online?

    Thanks so much for this guys/gals.

    I was quite reluctant to go but it seemed so professional (they told ME they were working WITH the History channel) and (being desperate for work too) I thought I don't have a problem with nudity if its completely necessary and not gratuitous. They never told me it would be that type of thing though!I was surprised that they said there may be nudity required in the audition but being a new actress, I just thought I shouldn't kick up a fuss. I also got a warning from mandy and I've forwarded them (mandy) all the correspondence. I now realise I've been incredibly naieve and narrowly avoided putting myself in a dodgy situation! What an idiot!

    I was told about this by another actress/female actor who had a similar situation, was invited to audition but after hearing more declined, she was warning me about it in case I was invited, give equity a call it all sounds VERY dodgy!!! xx

    Corinne - you're NOT an idiot!

    Whether you're a newbie or an oldie (refrain yourself from posting from that generalisation please!) at some point we've all heard about these sort of situations.

    So onwards and upwards and listen to that instinct :o)

    I read an email exchange between these guys and an actress friend and my alarm bells went off instantly!

    In their Casting Call they are specifically targetting newcomers and totally inexperienced wannabes so be very careful with these guys!

    If you do still want to go for the audition experience, take a friend as support or to act as a witness if required!

    I've also had the warning email from Mandy.com. Its a good site, considereing its free, but maybe not as through as CCP for instance, so seems to be an quite serious for them to be warning us. From the emails I got from Sinclair studios, the level of nudity increased with each one, and I was suspicious immediately

    Its definetly one to avoid. I was told that it was unnaceptable that I wouldnt send nude pictures, and that if i didnt have pro ones they would "happily pay for a studio so i could have some taken in addition to paying me for my time"

    how thoughtful...

    Just got an email form Mandy.com saying the following:

    WARNING - AVOID CONTACT WITH THE FOLLOWING:

    * sinclair studios

    * Julian grainger

    * Charles sinclair

    * Lord sinclair Studios

    * [email protected]

    We are contacting you and everyone else who responded to the mandy.com posting

    "Docu drama for world War II" and sent their resumes; mandy.com staff have since

    discovered that this was NOT a legitimate casting call.

    We advise you ...

    * Do not meet them

    * Do not respond to their emails or phonecalls

    * Keep a record of any communications they send.

    It's extremely unlikely that you are at-risk, but we thought it best to warn

    everyone.

    I was also invited to audition for the WW2 docu drama and they told me it was full nudity with violence and sexual ramification.

    It also involved travel abroad all paid for but all did not seem right and I decided not to go and pleased I made the right decision.

    The warning email I got from mandy.com shocked me.

    I havent posted on here before but I really think young actress should be warned not to go near this company.

    They emailed me as follows:

    Helen I have been asked by Julian to contact a few agencies about a project laid before the team last Friday. If I say its sponsored by anti governmant sources and private individuals and they want it on DVD by November at the latest. It is to tell the story of failing economy, debt, repossessions, drugs, NHS failures, loan sharks etc etc etc I think you get the picture but they want it telling as a story involving a husband and wife who are in their 20's Resume is for "Facebook to Fantasy to Fatality to Finality" Part 11 They are two high flyers working in the city and living in Brighton2 Belong to the drink and recreational drug groups after work3 He is Internet mad and surfs all the time4 She prides herself on her looks and glamour5 He puts pics of her on net from hols topless etc6 They get asked for more so oblige getting more risque all the time7 Group dabble in harder drugs , she finishes up having sex at a party with others8 He decides he likes to watch her in action and film it9 Get deeper in trying various groups, outdoor sex etc10 He loses job Part 21 He has bnervous breakdown2 She can't keep up mortgage and lose house, move into flat3 She loses her job4 She tries all sorts of jobs nothing doing5 She is offerred a job in landlords place to help pay rent arrears6 She is proporsitioned by landlord and accepts and goes onto hard drugs7 Landlord rents her to mates8 One offers her job as escort in his agency Part 31 She acts as high class escort but standards start to fall2 She gets deeper into debt and drugs3 Hubby takes overdose4 She progresses downward doing more way out stuff5 No one will help her even Dr's etc leave her on her own6 Hubby overdoses again and dies7 She moves into bedsit to get away from landlord and friends8 She finishes up on the streets soliciting They want this to be a 3 part each at an hour, we're working on scripting etc but we need the right woman for the job. Average Mrs Next Door, glamourous at the start but working downwards, about 25 years old, any colouring hair etc but first time to be white Caucasion about size 10 to 12.She will need to be prepared to do very explicit scenes which we will cull down in the editing. The salary is very good, above average for shoots but we think that as so much is involved and we here are mostly oldies we think that once she is chosen she should then assist with putting the plots together and auditioning the others involved and we will pay a salary of £35k.yr pro rata for the hours she does plus any expenses. Now the question, Do you have anyone who fits the role - we are not advertising this job in the usual ways as it is not really our forte but we are just contact a number of agency people like yourselves who might have someone that springs to mind.
