Has anyone signed up to Star now?

It's quit expensive for an online site but I was wondering if it was worth it.

    Thanks in advance

Hi Rebecca, That is so weird that you should ask at that time because I have just this minute cancelled my subscription with them. I was with them since september and have not seen one thing worth applying for. If you want to do magazine stories or reality tv then its a good place but for professional actors, well those living in Glasgow anyway, I didnt rate it. You can still view the jobs on it though without being a member. To be honest Id say spend ur fiver on pcr or here. How much does ccp cost??

    Are you considering Star Now?

I've been meaning to cancel my subscription with StarNow as there are so few proper roles advertised and they're normally on mandy.com anyway.

However being the eternal optimist I'll probably stay with them a little longer as you never know when something good might turn up! But generally speaking there are much better sites for the money. Depends on how many sites you want to subscribe to I suppose, as I'm just starting out I feel I need to check all sites all the time and dare not miss one!

hope this helps and I haven't rambled on too much.....

Star Now is nowhere as good as CCP IMHO.

Have to agree StarNow isn't even in the same league as CCP but it does have the occassional audition, maybe worth checking it every now and again and only subscribe if there's something really good?

    Hi

I still receive e-mails from them most weeks but delete them without reading. The only things I ever really saw was "reality" tv stuff and "have you ever and want to be involved" type programming. I didn't really think it was worth it.

Interesting to hear your comments as I am on there. I joined in December so it's early days and haven't got anything as yet. I only joined as a fellow actor has got a lot of his work through there.

I've been on it for a little while and have had some good auditions through it. It's great for different type of work also - for example I can get acting auditions, and also promo work too.

CCP is great, but StarNow is cheaper. I think it's worth having both in my opinion.

I'm on StarNow and have got quite a few jobs through the site. Let's face it, it's all a matter of luck and whether your profile fits. I agree it's not as good or prestigious as CCP, but it's another way of finding work.

I wasn't too happy with it. So in terms of our 'Eau meter' it would be 'Eau No'

    (I know - silly joke)

Most of the jobs on there were unpaid. I got the impression it was the Heaven of the unpaid extra.

But this is just my view. I appreciate others feel differently.
