Business Cards

Does anyone have any good suggestions where I can get hold of good quality and cheap business cards? I know there are loads of sites on the web but any personal recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Vista print was recommended to me on here two years ago. I've been using them ever since and have been very happy with all my business cards.

I use them all the time too! They are reasonably quick and cheap but I have never had any subscriptions to pay, though!
Online ordering www.vistaprint.com (or is it co.uk?) It's one of those anyway!!

I used www.photobox.com, as that's where my headshots are stored. I do know that they've changed the site recently, so I don't know if it's as easy to use, but they were excellent value, and quick and easy to design, and arrived within 24 hours!!

And I've found them very useful - I went for the 2 sided design with my headshot on the back and all my contact details on the front.

I've been thinking about getting business cards but how often do you actually use them?

Yes I have used Vista a couple of weeks ago, for the 1st time; I used to desighn and print my own... But you cannot beat professional ones!

I see to remember you could register for some sort of subscription, but I declined the invitation.

I use the e-card version, at the bottom of my e-mails, it looks very professional and has a colour head shot on it...

You can buy a nice list metal case to store your cards in keeping the flat and clean!

To answer your question Fiona.

I had 500 business cards printed about this time last year and I'm now halfway through the box.

Business card are so much more useful than a CV if you go to networking events. No one wants to be handed a CV but business cards can be very useful, and so much more professional than scribbling your contact details on a bit of paper.

Don't put your home address on your business cards incase your handbag gets stolen along with the keys to your house.

Just your name, mobile number, e-mail address, agents contact details and the URL of spotlight along with your view pin. Or if you have your own website put the URL for that. Then finish it with a nice photo of you.

I never leave my house without my business cards.

Me too - LOVE business cards. I use Vistaprint and never had a subscription problem - although ENDLESS emails, which I suppose I could unsuscribe from. Anyway, I think they're a really useful tool to have.

I've used both Vistaprint and Photobox and have to say I much prefer Photobox quality and designs. Was very disappointed when mine ran out to find they aren't doing them at the moment although having said that, over here in the USA they consider you to be desperate if you hand out business cards - apparently it's just not professional!

Using a card with your details on are great for networking; especially with your photo on it!

I am always pushing out cards to those I work with, in case they know of a job I am suitable for...

If you do not ask; you do not get... is my philosophy!

Don't let the grass grow under your feet, actively look for work and use the tools that can help do so. It's not luck; it's hard work; that's what counts...

I never use a handbag so I always show my address, so people know where I am based...

The bigger the bag...

The more rubbish you keep in it; so travel light girls..

Hey,

I used Vista and have bee well impressed. I did read the issue about monthly charges and was aware it was an issue being dealt with by and authority (Trading Standards or someone of that ilk) and decided to take the risk. It was wirth it and have since also had the fridge magnets and a small stamp for just the price of postage. I think if you are aware this is a possible problem and look out for it you can't beat them for price.

Well recently the latest thing seems to be Showreels and Business cards in full throttle I know these things have always been about but I've been asked more and more for both So for something you might fork our annually for with just your moby, email and name on I think its well worth a go .

just to offer an alternative to vista, i use www.moo.com. its £10 for 100 minicards, which are the size and shape of a stick of chewing gum. people always comment that they like them being that unusual size, something to remember me by! the cards are printed on good stiff glossed card, writing on one side, photo on the other, but the BEST BIT is you can have up to 100 different photos! so i get them done with each of my three headshots, and a couple of my burlesque shots, so i can hand the appropriate card to the appropriate person! the website is easy to use and the cards are delivered in a couple of days, brilliant!
