In the most recent PCR it is down as Julia Crampsie. I would think they were up to date. Good luck!

Kayle, all I can suggest is do as many short films and fringe theatre as you can to build your body of work and to get good showreel material. You probably know this anyway. Look into Film schools, talent circle post some castings on there as well. Get a copy of Contacts and research agents to do a mail out to. Also Casting directors are good to contact directly. Make sure that when you do a mail out you include a cover letter, reference, CV, headshot and also a showreel. Especially if you haven't had formal training a showreel is key. I am currently in the process of collecting enough material to make one myself. I do luckily have an agent however. Good luck. everyone motivate each other woohoo!!

Actually perhaps look into Roe Brookes. or spelt Brooks not sure. Charlie Brooks' (Janine from Eastenders') mother. She runs her own agency or at least used to in conjunction with a school called Ravenscourt theatre school which I think has been renamed Corona and moved to somewhere else in London. Hope this kind of helps. Best of luck

Ok so has anyone been to any of these micksingproductions with one of Rowley's workshops? What are their thoughts?

Rowland Beckley who hosts workshops and has cast actors for auditions from these workshops.

Mechelle, who has been cast from the workshops? I am interested in attending either yours or one of the others but have often wondered if they're the same as the US ones where they just do so many and don't accept headshots or details at the end. Would love to know they do actually work. Thanks..

So many casting directors hold workshops like this, and while they are beneficial, encouraging people to go on the hope that they will be cast is misleading!

That's what I thought Catherine.. I had a friend in LA called into an Entourage casting from a workshop, but she's the only one I know. That's why I'm interested to see Mechelle's reply.

Well I've never been to one of these workshops, but I have known a friend who has. She said it was very good, and she really enjoyed it and got great feedback. But no, she hasn't been cast in anything.

I did a 6 week casting directors workshop once (Not with the same company), and I have to say I didn't enjoy it. A load of actors all desperate to be 'seen' and name dropping their famous friends, and how brilliant their agents say they are etc. Embarrassing and uncomfortable!

I did an epp of Stenders a while back. Never attended a casting workshop for it though!!

I recall speaking to two actors at a different audition last year and they had been to several Stenders workshops but not known anyone get cast into the show.

My thoughts would be if you get a chance to go and it costs nowt go.....but be weary about paying for a workshop that just claims to be a specific Stenders wksp!! My understanding is these are run to trial storylines with the odd member of cast, and rather than trouble lots of cast members they bring in outside actors to simply fill in really?

I belive (and it would seem logical) on the whole the main roles are asked by invite only. When they cast the smaller guest roles 1-2 epps etc....its generally a "direct" ask in to attend an audition ...and they only see a few for the role too.

I could be wrong....but I'm pretty certain that's how it works! One thing is for sure, the show will be utterly inundated with a zillion daily requests to be on it!
