    Hi All,

can anyone recommend companies to contact that supply backstage crew for music festivals? I'm wanting to get into set and arena construction and hope to find a bottom feeder level entry job at one of these firms!

    Anyone know anything?

I noticed that no-one has replied.

If possible, see if you can join any local amateur theatres and work with Sound Techies - build up some contacts and see what you can find out. "Who you know" is extremely important!

What area/region are you based in, and what experience do you have?

    Hope this helps!

Will all due respect, getting getting experience with 'sound techies' isnt going to help the area Zoe wishes to enter.

What I suggest is contacting local crewing companies, I dont know of any in the Manchester area of the top of my head (contact the your arena and ask who normally supplies the incoming events with crew) and then contact them for casual work, not music festival but you could contact the Opera House or Palace theatre and see if you could join the books as casual stage crew for get-in and get-out's that at least will help you build up contact with incoming companies and putting sets together!

A fair point - my comment was merely aimed at giving some idea of getting contacts and meeting people in industry!

Nevertheless, your ideas seem far more specifically helpful!!!
