    Erin,

    Go to 2, please lol

Have you tried the FB group Local Zero Heroes, there's one ONLY for NYC and another just for LA gigs and they post PA jobs all the time. Day-playing might be a good fit for you starting out.

Or if you're brand new, like an ultra green PA, have you tried, being a Production Intern which is basically a PA just unpaid but if you do your job good enough you can get hired and get on a REAL paid gig. If you have a card, go to a production that's on your street or somewhere in the city, find a PA, ask for the Key PA and give them your card, or just ask a PA to give it to them. It also depends on how many gigs you've done, if you know walkie etiquette and production linguo.

    Back to 1!

Anybody has any tips on how to get PA gigs in the Chicago area? I'm from Miami where I've worked in lots of indie productions and for tv networks. I moved to Chicago in summer when Transformers 4 was being filmed, I asked some of the PAs working in the production but they gave me the run around, not very cooperative. One PA even referred me to an extras agency!! very funny.

    Hello Erin....

Do you wish to PA in the Art department or in production. To get on with a company, it is leg work that is required and going to the socials. I would start off in the WEB media circles to start and then use that as a platform to work into production. The international alliance of web television is located in NYC and is a great resource.

As a production designer, I am bringing a film to NYC in September of 2014 and shooting in Newburgh, NY. The design team should be there in August and we start shooting Sept 5th. Let me know.

When it comes to production, the three most important people to know of a film is the Producer, the UPM and the Production Designer. Those individuals are the backbone of production and hire most everyone.

Send me your email and I'll invite in the group. It's a private group hence you can't see it. Please do not PROMOTE yourself or post that you're looking for work, we all are. Just keep an eye out and apply to a job offer when you see on.
