Using a stage name, how to keep the real one private?

Hi everyone. I ask this mainly for my little sister.

I act and have always acted under a stage name, never liking my own, never got big and never plan to do so. But my little sister, also under a stage name, I booking left and right and I have no idea if she’ll ever get big or even want to continue with it, but I worry about her real name being discovered without her wanting to.

I feel like there isn’t a way to be SURE it’ll never be discovered, but I’m sure there are a few ways to not make it any easier. For now, she’s still in school but old enough to be on social media (all in her stage name though, her friends also call her it) and all she does is all I ever did which was not having my real name on socials or any links to schools os places I used to go to because of safety.

Does anyone else go under a stage name and has any more tips on making sure real name stays private or at least mostly private?

Thank you!

I use a stage name, nom-de-plume and/or nom-de-guerre for most activities in my business life. It may appear dishonest, and some people tend not to like not knowing who you are, what you do and the last person you had dinner with, because they can't then sell your details to advertisers. But my attitude is sod them - if they want to know my real name, they can marry me, or at least give me money.

The sticking point, of course, is officialdom. When it comes to proving who you are for the purposes of bank accounts, passports, driver's licence and a myriad other things, the alias thing breaks down somewhat, and many's the very careful sword-dance I've done explaining that such-and-such is the name on my bank account, and it's different from the name I use generally for so-and-so reason; Of course, this can lead to other difficulties, the extent of which can be mitigated by the fervour by which one cares to pursue the course of action.

For myself, I have very sound reasons for keeping my name private and, after all, I always say "screw the fame, just give me the fortune!"
