If you are into having a few sherberts, then there is a bar (or there used to be) called the circus bar. The bar itself is in the centre of the room and all the walls are painted with the faces of people who have visited, or who the landlord likes the look of, as the audience. Even if you do not drink, it is an interesting half hour studying 'the audience'.

I am also performing at venue 18 - sweet on the grassmarket, in a show called Streets, 11:30 every night from the 4th to the 23rd. I also intend to try to see as much as possible and will try to make as many of the shows with regards to CCP involvement as I can.

Regards to all

Joe

Being an bit of a Fringe veteran (this is my 6th Year), I would heartly recommend checking out the views from the Castle, the book festival which always has some interesting speakers, Edinburgh is rammed full of gorgeous restaurants and bars. Dirty Dicks on Rose Street ("Behind" Princes Street) does a cracky Haggis, neeps and Tatties. If vintage is your thing a visit to Armstrongs on the Grassmarket is a must, and if your legs can bear it Holyrood is worth a look - good place to escape to!
At festival time - don't be afraid of being a tourist - pretty much everyone is! If I have learned anything, go and just explore this beautiful, welcoming city. You will be surprised at what little gems you will find, some of which I'll keep to myself or they'll stop being the little gems that they are.... But don't forget to always respect the towns actual resisdents!!!
Hope you have a fantastic Edinburgh experience, and good luck with your show.
