Acting Schools and/or Workshop suggestions

Tony Packham
Actor

Hey all! This is something I’ve been pondering for a while cause I figured it could help me out with growth and with learning more about this wonderful industry, but I’m not sure which are out there or which are the best ones.

I’ve since March this year have essentially just been getting tutoring and “learning on the job” as it were. But I’m not sure if that’s really enough.

My question is, any of you out there that can recommend me a good acting school or workshop either within London or possibly within the Surrey area? Also any that come to mind in regards to being budget friendly?

Any advice or suggestions are welcome and I look forward to hearing everyone’s stories regarding this.

Thank you,

Tone

Gohub workshops, Wednesdays and Saturdays, screen acting on Thursdays. Mixing networks screen acting levelled classes, AMAW- must complete foundation weekend with them for drop-in classes. These are the best classes in London.

See you in class!

Hey for something a bit further afield but affordable (Steph Morgan who runs the retreats is happy to discuss a pay-what-you-can situation for most courses) I can highly recommend Both Feet Retreats in Wales.

She is running an online text analysis course that I've signed up to which starts 12th Sept - this is a pay what you can course. :) good luck!

https://actorsstudio.co.uk/ at Pinewood Studios are TOP NOTCH and have a variety of courses from weekend courses to full on masterclasses, they are all brilliant and I can highly recommend Sarah Hannah's classes, she is a phenominal tutor.

Actors Coaching International (ACI). I've done classes with Daniel and Danny and I can't recommend enough. Check out their web page: https://actorscoachinginternational.com/
There's also the Actors' Guild which offers a lot of CD workshops but also some by directors.

I just did a HNC in Manchester at UCEN and it was so rewarding and taught me so much.

Look up Daniel Dresner, he co-runs Actors Coaching international (ACI) and Actor at the Centre. He’s also on Facebook. He runs classes online and in person. He’s an excellent tutor (he’s also an actor) and I’m sure you’d enjoy his workshops. I did loads on online work with him during lockdown and have done a lot of in the room classes since.
