No need to feel bad! One guy I knew had his girlfriend coach him his lines as he couldn't read them at all. He was very successful at the time.
My wife is a novelist and she too has dyslexia.
Help always used to be on hand at the Reading Reading Centre :-))

My daughter is dyspraxic Mickey. She has problems with many things that other teenagers do as second nature.

When she did her GCSE's sometimes she would walk out of lessons telling me "It feels like the teachers are saying 'Bah. bah, bah, bah ,bah'". These conditions need to be understood. In a previous school she was looked at as nothing more than a bad child who "makes her own choices to be bad." This is the WRONG attitude. It can destroy a childs prospects.

She is now training to be a beautician.

BBC3 did it great documentary about Kara Tointons struggles with dyslexia. She had sessions with someone who taught her different methods of learning lines and thinking about words.
Think it might still be on iplayer, see if you can find it.

I have dyslexia.
The thing with dyslexia we are quite emotional people. We ain't good at reading like others. But we seem to know how to act out feeling, taking on realistic emotions. Handy when your kid and want to get what u want. Lol but as dyslexia we tend to bring out character. But our best touch is once we have been told the script or lines we remember like we heard it a 1000s times. I had 2 major
Roles for film and program and had 1 day to learn both I got someone to read me the script and then read it to myself. And knew it word for word. Madness. I think to myself sometimes how the he'll I remember all off that I remember some scripts I done 3 years ago. So in a way we have a gift but pen and paper we are dogs given a playstation. That's why we don't go for office jobs we are not confident with it.

happy bank holiday monday mark i salute you for one havinf the b....lls to say im dyslexic, two you have told the story of dyslexia in such a brillant way , i think the emotions we bare and show are true passion without thinking it through gives us in a strange way the edge to breaking the charactor .we just need that extra time to prepare but as my mentor who passed away a year yesterday used to say mickey if the charactor is in the room and you miss one or two words no one cares cos you put the emotions across you made us feel it was real man! So there is a up side to it more and more directors are using dyslexia actors cos of the way we are naked to showing the emotion without thinking if we are. Nice one mark i will be adding you to the pool of actors who are real ill def pass on your cv tim burton adores us also tarotino my spelling is cr.p but i know you follow what im trying to write blucky ur mate mickey churchill

hey steph talking to someone today about that dyslexic link they ight put it in the stage newspaper hope so its lik the other way around in states a lot of ppl say they got dyslexia to get extra time how mad is that ne of my favorite male casting directors i like a lot of them but once the amazing kevin riddle was casting at spotlight for american clients well here i go only to be given 6 pages of what now looks like japanese lol so all these guys from emerdale other soaps were giving it large and i was feeling like mr bean so i though shoot im going to have to tell him so i goes hmm sorry im dyslexic i normally get scripts a day ahead ten ill have it bang off so now im gettng the sniggers off the actors the room is getting smaller , then the client poped her head round called mr riddle and by now i got my coat on and he comes out and says hey mickey ive just explained and they want you to wait till end then come in and meet them ? So in i trot we all talk about everything and anything but the project lots oof laughs maybe at me but anyway i say goodbye going downstairs and mr kevin riddle shouts mickey they want to know how about playing colin?? More script and come back tommorow .so the morale of this is be yourself keep it real it pays off mickey keeping it real
