Birmingham social

    Hello all

I thought I would post to see if anyone would be interested in a networking social in Birmingham.

I am based in the Birmingham area and usually can't find time to get to the London networking events, so I thought I would test the water to see if there are others out there, perhaps closer to the midlands than London, that would fancy an social meet-up type thing.

So far I'm not setting any dates/times/venues (but thinking over the next month or so) as I am happy to organise that if there are enough people up for it.

So, if you are interested just leave a message so I can gauge how plausible it could be!

Hope to hear from you soon!!!

    Colin

    Hi,

I've only just seen this but I think it's a good idea.

Keep me posted if it goes ahead.

    Hi

Thanks for the reply...not sure it is a viable option at the moment...only 2 people responded despite it being on both SJP online and on Twitter!

I'll keep half an eye open though!

no one seems to like birmingham. :( which is sad because we are a great bunch. I'd be well up for a social event but it may be slightly arkward just three of us :)

Well, people seem to have overlooked the idea that Brum is VERY easy to get to in the Midlands...hence my suggestion. I personally don't live IN Brum, but can get their quicker, easier AND cheaper than London.

Well, if we build up enough interested people we could make it doable. I'll see if the jolly SJP people can do another advert for it on here and twitter etc.

Groovy - thanks Tom. The SJP people have noticed more activity on this forum now, so it might turn into something. Will keep you posted!

Well even if it does start out small the word of mouth will spread and therefore month by month or what have you it will get bigger and bigger.

Well there's 6 of us now, and I know a couple of other SJP people personally who I can try and nudge our way!

I was thinking maybe organise something just to meet up at pub or something, close to New Street station, maybe? That would make it easier for people to congregate...maybe....but I can start thinking of a simple suitable venue to meet up!

    (Any suggestions are welcome)

yeah that sounds like probably the best place as those travelling in from further afield can find it easily. Im sure I could get a few people together tho they are probably not SJP members, If its just a social contacts event then i suppose it dont really matter.

Besides drinks are a good time for everyone.

That is a good point indeed! In fact, non-SJP theatrically type people would be a great addition!
