Birmingham social

Hello all

I thought I would post to see if anyone would be interested in a networking social in Birmingham.

I am based in the Birmingham area and usually can't find time to get to the London networking events, so I thought I would test the water to see if there are others out there, perhaps closer to the midlands than London, that would fancy an social meet-up type thing.

So far I'm not setting any dates/times/venues (but thinking over the next month or so) as I am happy to organise that if there are enough people up for it.

So, if you are interested just leave a message so I can gauge how plausible it could be!

Hope to hear from you soon!!!

Colin

Well, that makes about 7 of us, not including others we could bring with us...beginning to sound like a goer!

Next question to all - need a venue close to New Street (easier to get from/navigate to and from) - any preferences?

Also, preferences for which day/evening and kind of time? I guess all of us work a variety of times and days, so let's see what we can do.

Am = 9-12
Pm1 = 12-3
Pm2 = 3-6
Eve = 6- later

I think mine availability would generally be:
Mon-Fri = Pm2, Eve
Sat = Eve
Sun = Am, Pm1, Pm2, Eve

Others? What you got?

Oh, that's no fair! Well hopefully, if we can get something going that goes well, we could do a regular (ish) meet up. Let's see what others also say.

No rush to do it too soon - I prefer well planned and good fun than rushed and sloppy. Like a cake! :) No, that's a crap simile!

Well, let's see what everyone else says too, then start putting a battle-plan together!

:)

Lots of midnight oil being burnt tonight, it seems!

I'm freelance and in Brum itself so I'm fairly flexible.
I'd say a Sunday evening stands the best chance of most people not working.
There are some nice pubs/restaurants/ cafes by the Hippodrome theatre - in the Arcadian. It's not probably 10 mins walk from New St but it's not hard to find.

Of course!!! There's also the Chinese quarter too....yum, Big Wok! But yes, that is all very easy to get to from New Street.

Great suggestion, thanks. And yes, I am also thinking that a Sunday evening might be the way forward.

well I work the most random times, so pick a date and I will see if I can swing it to be there.

looks like things are coming together nicely ay. tres excited! I'm Birmingham based so really any time of the day is good for me with the exeption of mornings as Im far from a morning person and may not be able to see anyone let alone have a decent conversation!
The new street area is not bad but also the area surrounding the hippodrome theatre has some nice places like in the arcadian. sundays are probably the best but we'll have to see what everyone else thinks and come to some sort of conclusion! :)

I'm based in the north so Birmingham is an easier option for me also. Would be great to get a social together there!

I would be interested. I live very near Birmingham and think it's a good idea, why should London get all the glitz and glamour - sure there enough to share around the place!

Exactly, I am all for glamour and the glitz, I don't see much of it on a daily basis!
