Birmingham social

Hello all

I thought I would post to see if anyone would be interested in a networking social in Birmingham.

I am based in the Birmingham area and usually can't find time to get to the London networking events, so I thought I would test the water to see if there are others out there, perhaps closer to the midlands than London, that would fancy an social meet-up type thing.

So far I'm not setting any dates/times/venues (but thinking over the next month or so) as I am happy to organise that if there are enough people up for it.

So, if you are interested just leave a message so I can gauge how plausible it could be!

Hope to hear from you soon!!!

Colin

That sounds an interesting idea. I have just been reading the posts and checking my diary for social dates. Combining the two could be a good idea as a start up way to meet. I'll look at that website, but what do others think???

sounds a good idea, i personally couldn't do that date, and day times are generally awkward for me anyway

On reflection - what a shame it is during the day! However as that is my theatre wot I work in I could try and find out if the Thursday, same day, in the afternoon/evening would be a good time for people to meet up in the bar there first...??? Might consider that an option!

I certainly don't want to spend time arranging a Brum social that I won't be able to attend! That be silly! :)

Righty - methinks a good date has come to mind. I like the idea of the BECTU think, but tbh, 10am-3.30pm weekdays are out for a lot of people who...well...work. Midweek makes it a bit more problematic for people if they have to travel a bit to get the Brum.

SO...

Sunday 17th April
Time from 4pm
Venue (TBC...but somewhere close to New Street, probably close to Hippodrome to make it easier for non-Brummies to find!)

What do we all think?

Venue...the green room, directly opposite the hippodrome theatre, very easy to find from new street station.

If anyone is planning on driving or travelling by other means and doesn't know brum, I'll make a lovely map of the location, with walking and driving directions, and put it up on my profile.

So, 17th April, The Green Room, 4pm onwards!!!

Hi all

My pleasure organising - really looking forward to it!

Hopefully we can get as many people there as possible. And of course, bring a friend - let's make is sociable and nice and relaxed.

Apparently the "Green Room" is rebranding and has a new name...so I have been told...but it is the same old place and same location!

:)

I like the idea of cheap drinks is good!

Cheaper.... It's still the centre of Brum so nowhere is cheap!! Then there is spoons next to the fox so plenty of drink choices!
