Blackberry choice!

I find Email on the move so useful. I am torn between the Blackberry bold 9000 phone, the Blackberry Curve 8900, or the Blackberry Storm.

Does anyone have one of thse models and willing to print your views and experiences. I want emails on the move, as well as a bit of mobile internet, and I am used to my old Blackberry.

I'm due an upgrade and I'm very undecided. Someone told me that the BB Bold goes through battery life really fast?!

Views and thoughts please....much appreciated?!

I have the blackberry storm model, and I have no complaints at all from it, the battery life can be quite short with excessive use but as long as you understand that unlike normal batteries these can be charge up as and when you want you don't need to wait for it to run down.
The touch screen can be irratating for the first couple of days and you will want to chuck it across the room but persevere with it and you get used to it.
I use it for all my emails, casting call pro, spotlight, internet etc etc and it works great, i have my headshot saved on the phone and my cv so emailing it off is the easiest thing ever. It also has microsoft word and excel on it.
Really happy with the storm, highly recommend it.

I've got a Blackberry Curve (8310 model) and I looooove it. I don't think I'll go back to a normal phone.

I find the battery life is great, even though it's checking the internet regularly for updates to my email.

It doesn't have wifi, which doesn't really bother me as I would only use that to connect and transfer over movies and music, but I can do that over the cable.

I found it takes a while to get used to the setup of a blackberry, as it's very much learning to use a new operating system. But it's so worthwhile to learn, as you can set up the icons you want on the front page menu and do all the bits and pieces I needed to.

The browser that's on there doesn't handle the net particularly well, but I downloaded Opera browser for Blackberry and it works a treat (and runs css well for those in the know)

The camera's not fantastic, but the phone makes up for it... I can still take ok photos (if I'm still) and email them to twitpic to put on twitter.

There's so many applications you can get for the blackberry that you can keep up with pretty much everyone on your phone... even if you've not got their phone number.

Don't know if that helps... but yey blackberry!

I have a Blackberry 8220 Flip which is handy if in your pocket as have had past experiences where my phone has called and texted whilst in my pocket. But while we are talking about blackberry does anyone know how to enable divert calls on a blackberry 8220 flip phone as I can't find call forwarding on options. Any suggestions?

Well in the end ...I ordered the BB Bold....coz of the 3g technology, and the battery life, it seems, is fine after all.

I looked at the BB storm...and feel that the touch screen would drive me up the wall....same for the Iphone...which does not sync with Microsoft Office 07 very well I'm told (ie MS outlook for diary and contacts, where as all other Blackberrys do sync perfectly.

For Emails on the move...I would not have anything else other than a blackbery now. I got a fab deal from Vodafone too...inc totally free calls to any land-line 24/7 and unlimited internet/emails.

Thanks for your help though.....the Bold won out in the end!

Whilst on the thread...for those who don't know: If you are due an upgrade, and are happy with your exsisting phone, try asking your line provider for a 12mth deal at half price! Because you are not having a new phone, this saves them quite a lot of money especially against a Hi tech model of phone. If they say no...say you will simply go to another airtime provider.....they will sway I promise....especially Vodafone! If I was sensible I would have done that...but I wanted a "new" phone coz I'm a bloke!

Talking of fruit - just read in my paper that cherries are going for £195 a kilo at Harrods. Seems that blackberries are on the back burner.

I've been researching Blackberries online. They do some pretty amazing things, don't they.
The trouble is I'm a bit of a techno phobe (though I'm getting better). How easy are they to learn so you can get the most out of them? With the ability to do all that...what is the point if you can only send messages and receive phone calls and cannot set it up to do all of the coooool stuff?

YUP...they will do everything from usdual phone and texts to syncing with OUTLOOK for diary and cal...if you use MS outlook that is?

Emails is where they come into their own...the are the leading phone for that.

Depending on the model....Storm doe sevrything teh Iphone does from what I can see....although the Iphone is not good with Outlook it seems.

The Bold has all the right features but a smaller screen...although the screen is very good. Also the Bold has 3g technology so the internet will be very fast to download.

I have a tarif which gives me unlimited emails/unlimited internet..and 24/7 free calls to any ladline. 700 mins talktime to any network and 250 texts. £35 per month on an 18 Month contract.

Oh and the Bold is Wifi too!

Alan, I think with new phones that have features, you've just gotta take the leap and sit with the manual if you're not confident in playing about with the phone till you figure things out.

Swallow up the fear of technology and start using all those features that will improve the way you organise your time, emails, phone calls and messages. :)

Thank you for those words of great sense. Only two things wrong, really. One: I'm a bloke and two: I'm an old bloke!
If it's not written down LARGE I may forget. :0)

Does this mean, he asks in all innocence and seriousness that there is no longer any point in buying a laptop?

I just want to get into my emails, CCP etc while away, nad maybe watch the odd DVD on evenings when the weather's crap and I can't afford to drink.

Brenty and Mr Hill, you just took the words right outta my mouth ! So let me get this straight; rather than spend £450 on a reprocessed Intel Apple Mac laptop, I can surf the web and check out my emails etc using a Blackberry? I recently bought a Nokia 6600 in an 02 shop and now pay a monthly bill of £25 for 200 free texts and 200 free mins call time! I was also going to buy this laptop to take on the road and abroad with me....but do I need it d' yer think?!!
