Blackberry choice!

I find Email on the move so useful. I am torn between the Blackberry bold 9000 phone, the Blackberry Curve 8900, or the Blackberry Storm.

Does anyone have one of thse models and willing to print your views and experiences. I want emails on the move, as well as a bit of mobile internet, and I am used to my old Blackberry.

I'm due an upgrade and I'm very undecided. Someone told me that the BB Bold goes through battery life really fast?!

Views and thoughts please....much appreciated?!

Rich,

I have an iphone and I can get all my emails, surf the web, check CCP, use Spotlight and have music/films on it.

If you go for an iphone (or a Blackberry if you prefer) you may find that they will be sufficient for your needs without needing a laptop as well.

It's worth going into O2 (or other phone shop) and getting someone to show you what the different phones can do.

Rich,

You may also find that some netbooks (mini-laptops) are being given away with certain phone contracts or mobile broadband contracts so if you do decide on a laptop that may be a cheaper way to do it.

Rich....If I wanted to watch DVD's....the Iphone or the Blackberry isn't really going to help is it? I know you can process a DVD and place the footage onto either phone.....but I would not want to watch a film in this way? Would rather have a laptop with a bigger screen than a phone!

My advice would be to get both. BB or Iphone (I prefer BB!) for your phone and emails and bit of web surfing taking snaps etc.

The laptop will give you much more than just watching DVD's of course....and when in Hotels and or Wifi areas....the internet will be faster and free...and on a much bigger screen. However, you need to know that your laptop has Wifi capabilty...or you wont be able to use it for connecting to the interent without a physical cable connection. If the Laptop is newish...it almost certainly will be. Also with the laptop, you can work on your usual office Docs etc etc

As far as the phone deals are concerned: Shop around for who will negotiate the best deal for you. ie: Do you text more than you talk etc.

Finally if the laptop is an apple....then you might be best getting the Iphone as they sync so well regarding Itunes if you are into that!

02 do a deal for £45 per month giving you 1200 mins of talking and 500 texts!!

I would take your laptop with you when you go to the phone shops and see what they say reading wifi etc. Even if the laptop is not wifi....you can still purchase wifi USB sticks and for a set monthly fee get internet anywhere (as long as you are in signal)

If the laptop is small and convenient to take around....use that for DVD's internet and emails and just get a cheap phone for calls. The cheaper the phone the better the deal with talktime you will get.

Lastly before I bore the whole of CCP to death... I advise against Orange and T mobile....stick with Vodafone or O2 for best coverage and deals.

Orange in London seems not too bad....but its hopeless in Surrey!

Yawwwwwn!

Oh one more thing...Danni is quite right, you should be able to negotiate a new netbook/laptop and Mobile phone deal as a combination deal. The latest netbooks are very compact and do all you need....but they have tiny hardrives and are usually just for websurfing really. Check they play DVD's OK!
