Cheeky headshot query!

I've been using the (very excellent)headshot review system, but I'd like a bit of extra feedback...
I've recently had some new shots done, but due to some technical problems won't have them ready for the spotlight deadline (grrr.)
Just wondered which of my headshots you guys reckon a) most looks like me and b) is most suitable for spotlight, in that it's attention grabbing and professional looking?
If you have a quick look at my piccies, you can refer to them by their number (top one being 1 etc).
It'd really help me, as I've had so many different opinions I'd really appreciate you guys helping me (especially as some of you have met me, so know the truth!).

Hi Sally

I think they're all good as they show diversity but would say No 1 is the one I would use as there is a knowingness in your eyes that immediately draws the viewer in. This sort of quality would immediately interest a Casting Director.

Hope that helps
Have a great day

Sally. I agree with Caroline. Claire Grogan shots are great. In my humble opinion, the top right shot of the group of 4 is best.

Need some new shots myself. How was Claire Grogan?

hey stan, shes really good, claire that is, I must sound like Im on commision but Im really not honest!. I had to decide to get cheap ones or blow 200+ on new headshots but Im really glad I did as I really like them and shes really nice too, very pro and friendly. Shes not too expensive as most good headshots cost so much these days, she has a waiting list tho so book ahead. x

Hi,

I've never met you so I can't comment on whether they look like you but I think they all show a different side. Claires'look alot younger than Remys. Claires' pull focus to your eyes and Remys show a confident "attitude". I think they are all fab and each one can be sent for different jobs.

Hi Sally,

I have a different view, I would definately say no.8. To me, this shows you clearly. It's perhaps not as 'friendly' looking as no.1, but I honestly think you would get more castings from no. 8. For a start, you look much more diverse, I was able to picture you in a number of different charcters, but the top one seemed a bit more limited. I've never met you as you know, but just looking at them at face value, no. 8 spoke a lot more to me. The eyes particularly!

Sorry if this has created more confusion for you as I clash with everyone else, but if I were you, I would take a good look at no. 8 as I think you may have overlooked this one.

Just my thoughts, hope they help!

Hey Sally, after a fair study i think your current one, No1 and No8 are all very good! if i was to name the one i prefer it would be No1.

I hope this helps.

Matt.

Cheers folks!
I love the Claire Grogan ones, she's super. However they are nearly three years old (and I don't think I was at my best at the remy hunter ones, which are only 18 months old)- unless I've aged horribly!
No sooner had a said "technical faults" but the dratted machine starts working again.
Anyone know if I can submit a book photo to spotlight via email? And also what the exact deadline is for new photos (either the 13th or 18th april).

Anyone noticed that the google ads on the side here sometimes refer to iron casting? Hehehehe.

Yes you can submit via email, just call them first to warm them its coming and check the email address. The deadline is a bit flexible but they also keep that quiet, they normally take submissions for about a week after but it annoys them so dont push it too long. x

Thank you soooo much for reminding me about the spotlight deadline, i'd totally forgotten!

Back to the thread - i think they're all lovely photos but i'm more drawn to the Claire Grogan ones if i'm honest, but the Remy one could be used for certain roles i'm sure.

I'm still deliberating on which photo to use in the spotlight book too - any thoughts anyone?

Thanks, Vick x

hi Vick, i like the 2nd one down and the 4th one down, if i was to offer my acute eyes opinion i would say i prefer the 4th one.

Hope that helps you a little.

To be devils advocate, I say second one.
Damn you, woman, you're my age and you look like a little baby...

Thanks guys, really appreciate your time and the comments. I do seem to still be cast as a 15 year old, despite turning 26 next month...!!

I suppose it is an advantage - used to hate looking so young though!

does anyone know how long it usually takes to get the 'formal' feedback on your headshot from this site? i just put my shot in for feedback a few days ago and as far as i can tell it hasnt been reviewed at all yet.

Sally - I like the 8th one down..and the first but the 8th is more interesting I would say..

New photos Spotlight deadline is 13th April, it is fine to email photos to them (details of how and what info to include on the back of your green form). They said if they receive it just after Easter then it is ok.. But obviously the sonner then better..

Anyone ever got a casting though Spotlight with no agent?

Hi Vick and Sally

Looking at your profiles, I'd say that both of you have your best pictures up as your main headshot on this web site.

Hope that helps!

Hi,

Re: Spotlight query.

Before I got an agent I went for a casting ~ the production company lost my home details and they sent me a letter via Spotlight(which was nice even though it was a "you didn't get it" letter).

I got a casting last year through it where Broadcasting contacted my agent for a Pimms Commerical ~ what I can gather is they found me through spotlight... That was fun..didn't get it though lol.

I know of others that have phone calls out of the blue from casting directors having found them in Spotlight.
