CV's The Future

I wondered what is the protocol with putting things on your CV that you haven't done yet?
I've noticed a few people with things dated for the following year, now I wait until I've finished something or at least do a respectable bit of it before I put it on my CV and I don't think I'll change that policy because I think it might scare people off from offering me work if they think I can't do it because I won't be available.
What is the CCP consensus on premature adulation? Snigger...(only a play on words no offence meant)

There's always the fear that if you add the credit as soon as you've been cast, you may jinx it.

oh I agree Fuzz, i can get quite supersticious like that too

When i've started working on something, i don't like putting it on my CV until the last day of filming. just in case! i get so anxious to add it, but i feel the second i do i will get an email saying i have been cut and they are shooting the rest without me haha.

I've only done it on a few rare occasions where i've known the filmaker and I know it will go ahead. What i've done in the past, is added it to the "currently appearing..." bit on spotlight. where you can put things you are currently working on.

This thread opens up an interesting point regarding our profile pages on CCP.

Might it be a good idea for members to have the facility/space at the top of our profile page: Just to have a few lines of "work in production" news and or: Productions we are about to appear in etc. CCP?

Very good (and obvious, yet overlooked by all others!) point Mark. I concur wholeheartedly! :) CCP... your thoughts?

Currently I just flag work in progress as either "Rehearsing", "filming" or "attached" depending on it's current status.

I find it's useful (meaning good for business) to list work in progress ... and it's deleted it 20 seconds in the rare event it falls through.

As you will see I have 2 or 3 lines in my profile that have (Attached) against them! These are roles that I have already signed contracts for and are in line with IMDb convention although I do draw the line at putting (in talks) against any entries as (in talks) means bugger all in the real world and is only used by producers to attract interest in their projects by adding a few A listers to the cast!

In short, if you have a signed contract in place it is in my opinion acceptable to add the line to your CV!

...I think IMDB star meter sucks!
Any online actors service that keeps bleeting on about 'star meter has reduced by 60%'or star meter has increased by 90%' for no apparent reason is pushing the star richter scale out a bit too far!
If I base jumped off 'Big Ben' it would say 'star meter increased by 2000% this week!'
What a load of s**************meter!

Hi Charles,
I agree with you about the Imdb star meter; unfortunately I've seen agents/managers saying that they would only consider talents with a star meter under 100,000.
But that was in the US, where Imdb seems to rule the business unfortunately...
