dying on stage.....

Andy Corelli
Actor

Hi all

Does anyone know how to die effectively on stage?

I am lightly pushed, stumble backwards onto hard stage and am supposed to hit my head on pointed floorboard thus killing me....yup i know....somewhat far-fetched possibly....

We do not have fight director or choreographer.

Small stage and there is a small cupboard (2 ft high) to my left and sligtkly behind.

I would rather fall forwards so minimising risk to back etc, but alos wary of knees/joints etc..

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Andy

As a fight director with over twenty years of experience, I can only implore you to insist on the services of a professional expert if you are in any way unsure about what you are doing. You can get qualified assistance from the BADC, the BASSC, Youngblood and the Equity Fight Register. If things go wrong, you'll be sorry and maybe very sore. Plus which they will show you how to get the best out of the action.

Fight directors exist to keep actors safe and make them look good, so don't be afraid to demand their services.

Best, KD.
