Employed or Self Employed??

Hello all.
If you work part time employed, but also do bits and pieces of acting work self employed-- which should you be registered as?!

Make sure you don't lose your Unique Taxpayer Reference UTR. They sent me a card with mine on -- do they still do that? I registered to file my tax return online the year they introduced the online system and it was chaotic; I ended up with two UTRs. I waited a couple more years before filing online. It's very simple now, except for some of the jargon. I had to phone the tax enquiries office to ask what turnover means (it's income). I must say, they're very helpful over the phone and very patient.
