As someone who wouldn't have known there was a match on yesterday if it hadn't been for incessant Twitterings, that post and title thoroughly confused me. Had to decipher it without knowing anything about the game (as I turned off Twitter when they started tweeting). Maybe it's because I had to work so hard for the joke, or maybe it's just because you're THAT funny, but it certainly made me laugh! ^_^

(Wow... What a long-winded way of saying your joke made me laugh... I should do what the kids do these days and start saying "lol".)

Magnus ... you have me worried, Old Son. I take it that, you are not English, and that you reside in a Monastery !!.

Hahah! I am Norwegian, 'tis true, but I don't think they'd let my wife into the monastery, so that wouldn't fly.

I just carefully choose what I pick up on in the news. I was blissfully unaware of Eurovision this year until it was all over. ^_^

It's not fair on Green to lay this pressure on him. He can't handle it. . .

Although in all seriousness I do feel for him. Our equivalent would be drying in front of a worldwide audience of billions.

Very true.

He was more than prepared for the difficult goals, but the simple? He just fluffed up.

I like my Wife's comment, when she looked across the room at my shell-shocked face.
" A hundred grand a week, and can't catch a bloody ball ?? .. something wrong somewhere ."

You have to feel sorry for the man.I bet his team mates have clubbed to gether to buy him a pair of big foam hands.
Hopefully he wont get dropped just yet ,otherwise he'll never have a way to redeem himself.
But bloody hell its painfull watching it.And I dont even watch football

The guy has been brilliant in recent games and made some stunning saves, which have helped to put us in the finals.

He makes one mistake....and the press are calling for his blood. PATHETIC!

The British press should be behind our national team...it's the british "thing" though! Doesn't matter who they are, footballer, actor etc....we build them up till they are at the top of their game....then we can't wait to see them fail. It's actually quite weird I think.

Because of course....none of us have ever made a mistake....inc the British press...yeah right!

easy tiger. I did say I hope he gets a chance to redeem himself. Not everybody screams for blood after one mistake .
Its just a light hearted thread.

I say bring back the guillotine. I think it's only fair. Give someone else a chance.

Bonus: They could use his head as a ball for practice.

To be fair as a team we've looked very poor from the outset and guess what we've renewed Capello's contract regardless..... of his inability to pick the
fittest in form players.... but there's a whole other argument!
I don't blame Green I blame the entire team for not putting several past the USA who really are unfortunately fairly mediocre....
Nevermind lets expect nothing from this squad and whatever comes along will be a bonus!!

Green made a terrible blunder..these things happen, but the USA are no mugs! They beat Spain ( many people's favourites) 2-0 and went 2 up against brazil in the confederation cup final...early days..keep on believing!!!
