How get started and let's say "break the ice in the industry.

I am new to this whole voice acting game and would like to get some advice on how yourself or someone you know has had a positive experience starting off getting paid gigs. What leads are the best for newcomers. What should I put on my profile and what not to put. I think I have extremely unique sense of humor and love making people laugh with different voices, characters I've created over the yrs of having way too much free time.. lol..

Well for me I've done voice acting free of charge I recommend starting with something small and then working your way up.

The best way to get into the VO business is to have a coach, like Elley-Ray Hennessey: https://www.elleyray.com/ She's in Toronto and has several workshops that you can attend. She's wonderful!
I used to have an agent (Vox Talent), but I had to quit because I needed to pay rent and eat. Now, that I run my own business, I'm able to pursue VO work again. So far I have found several VO jobs on Mandy.com, some are paid and some aren't, but you take it as it comes. In my opinion there isn't anything bad about volunteering, it just can't pay the bills. Good luck! :D
