I can’t see you viewed me, it’s not on the network list anymore, is people having the same problem?

Hi all (apologies if this has already been touched on)
I manage my daughters account on here. I note they are removing the 'profile views data' shortly. It would be nice if Mandy:
1. Advised what these 'fab new features' are in advance
2. Frankly the data of views is (imo) what sets them apart from other websites, so personally would prefer it to remain. I'd like to know why that feature is being removed.
3. All job listings should therefore have the 'employer' details included.

Curious what others think?

If I click on views it’s says this feature will be gone 13th Sept ( already gone off my sons ) to make way for exciting new features. I’ve literally just cancelled as no relevant or decent jobs coming through and any that do pop up are always the wrong ethnicity.

It’s important to me to know who viewed me and my application status, but Mandy has emailed me and there will be more features coming they said? I don’t care which new features they put on their, you can take away the application status, because we actors want to know the status so we can know the employer has seen it. Come one Mandy, listen to the people.

I just feel sorry for all of us, because for me I’m on spotlight but I don’t control it my agent does, in spotlight I don’t know what’s going on with jobs, or applications, my agent controls spotlight.

With Mandy I can control it and I learn from it and I feel like I’m on own agent, I apply for things, I do self tapes, I reply to employers, I see who viewed me, I see the status of my applications. So by Mandy taking this way, it will make less in control and less of learning and less control.

It’s not fair and not right. I feel we actors are always treated like puppets in this industry. They tell us what to do and we do. But when we speak out we are not heard. And people tell me it’s part of the industry but I have my pride and my principles.

I would certainly wish to add my name to the list of members objecting to the removal of the Profile Views facility. Surely they're not also removing the facility to check if an application has been viewed??? It's particularly annoying since, as far as I can tell, they haven't even asked how the fee-paying members feel about this.

Can someone explain because I’m not sure. So Casting Call Pro is Mandy just the name got changed? Or Mandy bought Casting Call Pro?

So what’s Backstage? Because I get sent emails from Backstage from time to time. Is Backstage part of Mandy?

So if I want to join Backstage is it for free because I’m a Mandy subscriber? Or do I have to pay to be on Backstage? Or they are both the same?

CCP was the original site. They changed the name - I was told it was because it was the name of the wife of one of the founders but I find that hard to believe. As Mandy, it started to go downhill and was eventually bought out by Backstage (who also took over Star Now). Backstage is an American outfit which looks to profit rather than looking after actors’ interests. So, Backstage and Mandy are one and the same thing but trading under different names.

You have to pay separately for Backstage (and Star Now) although you can use the same password and at the moment, if you update your profile on Backstage, it automatically updates Star Now. Both Backstage and Star Now have apps whereas Mandy does not as far as I could see.
Backstage doesn’t have a profile view option or have any application views either so you have no idea whether your application has been looked at - which is why I’ve always preferred Mandy. I like that instant feedback - even if I don’t get the job it gives me a lift to know it’s been viewed once or more.
I get so many ‘unregistered user!’ views which are pointless, but I also like to see who has maybe looked at my profile.
I’m gutted they are removing the two best features which distinguishes them from the other 2 platforms.

I would like to endorse the point made by a previous contributor - the facility which shows that a job application has been viewed is a vital part of Mandy. One reason they should retain this feature is an obvious one - it is the only way for us to be sure the application has reached the employer! Surely that is worth retaining. If you were thinking of removing this facility, Mandy - please THINK AGAIN!!! (Excuse my block capitals, but I feel very strongly about this.)

Hi Vanessa, I was told initially that I would have to be a member of Backstage to be able to access Mandy but that I could be a non-paying member. I did still get sent jobs but as they were next to useless, I opted out of getting them. I think it's criminal that people have to pay for Backstage and Mandy when neither is fit for purpose. Surely there are features they can take out instead like interview slots or cv surgery. I don’t use these features, but WHY take away the features that all of us use and appreciate.

There are other features they could take out, but they are taking away the features that we need.

Hi Toni. Yes you can have access to all of them but if you want to apply for a role or even respond to an email, you have to subscribe.
I guess as with the nature of acquisitions, they are harmonising all the systems and processes between the 3 platforms....so Mandy will eventually have the same functions as Backstage which is why the views and application status are going. :-(
There should be better search functions coming which may help with some of the other issues people have raised previously.
But it’s disappointing that they don’t keep the best functions from each system!

Is it too much to hope that someone 'in power' may at least see these comments and re-consider one or more of these unpopular decisions? I repeat, surely the facility to see if and when an application has been viewed by the employer is EQUALLY IMPORTANT to Mandy and to the applicant as it is the only real proof that the application has been received by that prospective employer.

Backstage reply to another post:
"Our goal is to provide a platform with the best job opportunities to help our talent grow their careers and become successful".

I got this from Backstage in an e-mail too.

We're here because we're professionals - when I joined, many years ago, it was called 'Casting Call Pro and Voices Pro.

We are already "successful" we don't want to "grow our careers" - especially when your interpretation of that is inundating us with wholly inappropriate 'job' matches which show no knowledge of the industry or your client base,

Mandy are getting rid of profile views as of the 13th of what ever month this is so perhaps this is why. They are also getting rid of the Application status on the same day, I find both of these useful. What new feature are they adding?
