Kitchenette

Hi all! I really hope you can help me with this one...

I'm looking for a kitchenette for part of a set but I'm having real trouble finding anything which isn't very modern/Ikea-esque. What I really want is a grotty, old, very basic item with open shelves, a sink (or one we could put a sink in) and room for a small fridge to slot in underneath.

A tall order I know! I'm London based and have been to the furniture outlets/junk yards I know of but this sort of thing just doesn't seem to spring up that often.

Would anyone have any suggestions about where I should try, or even an old one which you've used and could lend/give us?

Thank you very much!

Contact builders or Kicthen fitting companies. When they fit new kitchens in houses they might also dispose of or recyle old stuff. They might know somewhere/someone to go to.

Try smaller ones and local firms, more likely to help you out. For all you know, a local builder or chippy might say "well, I am installing a new kitchen in a small place next week and need to dispose of the old one!".

Worth a try!

Thanks, yes I think that might have to be my best bet. I'll call up some people and see where that gets me. Fingers crossed!
