Looking to get a start.
I always wanted to be an actor since I was child. I was bullied pretty badly as a child and I pulled back. 5 years ago I started to get in shape and with no excuses I started to acted in local community theatre. Which has given great experience, including a trip to England which I got to perform on and English stage through a theatre exchange program. I want to grow as an actor . So with that in mind I am looking for someone to help or direct me in this new and exciting world. Looking for as much help as possible as there is no more excuses and I am moving forward.

Congratulations!! You sound like your in a great place and what an amazing experience to have performed in England. There are many people in the biz, who for whatever reason had to take a break and get back into acting late. It all builds character and makes you who you are, as it's life experiences we draw on.
My suggestion would be to take as many classes as possible in a variety of area's, especially improv! It's something you will use a lot in auditions and helps build confidence. It's done so much for me personally and I highly recommend. Also take dance, voice, movement classes and keep exploring. Heck take anything that makes you stand out apart from the crowd..find your thing....what characters you resonate with and can play well. Surround yourself with positive people. The can doers.
Go see live theatre, improv and comedy and you will meet people like you. Keep a level head, a sense of humour and keep moving forward. Learn from every experience and number 1 remember to be nice to yourself at the end of the day.
Also, get an agent. Make sure they don't ask you for money and they are reputable and recommended. As you take more classes and get to know more people you find better references for good agents.
All the best,

My name is Kendra Fernandes and I have recently entered the industry. I have always been a type of introvert due to bullying as well. But a few years ago i started to enjoy acting as a means of getting out of my shell. After the first class I absolutely loved it. I have taken a few acting and voice acting classes around Toronto.
I have a demo reeI with class scenes. I also have obtained my headshots. I am also trying to increase my special skills.
However, I would love some tips about getting first gigs and when it is time to obtain an agent.
