Monologue Competition

I wanted to try blending film and theatre in my London-version of Skin-Lad from Jim Cartwright's "Road", alongside taking the chance to show off a more physical character.

HI Nina, just to let you know that I've voted for your entry. I wondered if you had thought of a title for your monologue - I thought that 'That's what I do' might be a nice title as it's the last line of your piece. Also wondered if you could try stripping away all emotion from your performance - so that the story is more nuanced - play it like the character is just dead inside - emotionally exhausted - a sort of shell of her former self.
Food for thought...

Hi all, just like to echo what many have said, there's some really inspiring stuff here.

Mine is Chris' monologue from 'Gilt' by Rona Munro, Stephen Greenhorn and Isabel Wright. I've tried to go for a 'softened Glaswegian' accent.

Chris has been homeless most of his life and is a drug runner. Expecting to find drugs in a bag he's delivering, he finds severed body parts.

Relatively new to acting, and any feedback, good bad or indifferent is very welcome!

I am learning so much by watching everyone's monologue entries so thank you and have just got round to listening to over half of them, I've just posted mine...first time doing anything like this but you have to start somewhere if only to cringe looking back on it.
