*Most Viewed Profiles*

OK, clarification, please! These sudden increases in profile views. While it'd be lovely to think that employers are queuing up to checkout our details, it seems that many of the views come from other candidates (lovely, but they're not gonna pay me....!) or, according to website info...from bots. Also, my views, recently, seem to be going up in leaps and bounds, not just by the single digits I had before. Something's awry. Any thoughts or answers please, guys? Thanks.

Editorial Comment Hi Jane,

I don't know if you're aware, but we recently revised how we classify profile views, to better allow you to track how often you're seen. If you go into the profile views panel you can see there are now two different types - 'profile views', 'file views' and 'search results'.

We only used to track profile views, so the number would go up specifically when someone opened up your own individual profile. With the addition of 'search results' however, we also keep tabs on how many times you appear in searches, or on other pages that members might view such as company pages, agency profiles and listings for specific productions you were involved in. The idea behind this to allow you to better understand not only how many times you are being seen on a day-to-day basis, but also the context of these views, so you can more accurately keep an eye on the impact of your work and any changes you make. File views are more self-explanatory - this goes up if someone views one of your files, such as a CV or showreel.

If you have taken part in some relatively recognisable work recently, for example, you may have garnered more views than usual. This in turn can lead to you being featured on the ‘most viewed profiles’ list which usually begets further views. More impact means more visibility, all part of our long-term goal of making each member's presence on our network more meaningful.

I hope this at least helps take some of the mystery out of it, but if you have any further questions you are welcome as always to contact us by phone or by email to have a chat about it.

Best wishes,

The Mandy Team
