My Name

Louisa Donaldson
Singer, Actor

Hi
Wondered if i could have opinions on my stage name.
I have three choices and would love to get some feedback on what people think sounds the best.
Louisa Donaldson/Louisa Corkin/Louisa Durnford.
These are all family names so not bothered which one, just can't decide.
Thanks in advance.
Louisa x

I'm assuming you can't have your own name? I was always told to use that if poss.

Louisa Corkin has a good ring I think, and rolls off the Tongue well!

Yep - Corkin. Great name!!

I considered changing mine for 2 reasons - 1) I get SO many people writing it as Haplin (cos that's a common name?!) which is very annoying, and 2) I discovered there's a Rep Ireland actor called Peter Halpin. However, after consulting friends, one 'friend' decided they liked my idea of Oakley - the village in which I grew up - and used it herself!!! Which put me off both the name and her!

So yeah, corkin' you are and Corkin you will be! :)

I'm going to put the cat amongst the pigeons and say Louisa Durnford. It's got a more enigmatic ring to it, I think. But then I'm a die-hard romantic. Corkin sounds a bit too much like Culkin for my taste and we all know where he ended up. (Albeit minted, I grant you...) ;P

I changed mine 'cos, like Peter, I was sick and tired of people mispelling my real name...even now I still get asked how do you spell "KB" and I've given up getting the people I drive trucks for spelling it right on their paperwork! 4 years and today it only had 2 spelling mistakes!

Anyhoo...I digress! Personally speaking I like Donaldson! Maybe that's just 'cos of Scottish bias!

Asking for help with your choice of name is just going to confuse you even more as every responder will have a differing opinion!

Onwards and upwards!

Donaldson for sure! Nothing against the others and I don't have a profound reason for choosing it, I just like Donaldson.

People always spell my 2nd name wrongly, and I always have to repeat it on the phone etc...drives me mad!

With that in mind I'd go for the name that's easiest to remember and spell! I presume your own name is already taken within Equity?

Hmm... Louisa Corkin is the most memorable but I think Louisa Donaldson sounds the best. No reason really, I just think it does!

I had to change my surname too because there was already an Emily in Spotlight whose double-barrelled surname was half mine. One of my middle names is St. Clair so I just adapted it and became Sinclair.

Well. I took one look at you and even though these are all family names you say you look like a Donaldson!
