No detail for paid job breakdown.

Hi All,
I have seen jobs advertised on this site recently that merely said 'paid'. No further idea of what the pay actually is.
What do people think?
Is this acceptable?
Best wishes
Jimmy.

Editorial Comment Hi there Jimmy,
Thanks for posting on the forum! We review and vet every job posted with us, and where a pay rate is not listed we make sure to confirm with the employer in writing that they will be paying a rate that meets our minimums, for all time worked. We encourage all employers to be transparent with their rates but there may be occasions where they don't want to disclose this straight away, or they may want to actors to quote their rates to undertake the job in question.
If we can help with anything else please do reach out to us via emails@mandy.com.

Hi Mandy Team,
can you let us know what the rates are that you consider an acceptable minimum. The post implies it is not the same as Equity minimum.
Thanks and all the best, Aurea

I imagine it's NMW which is not really a good rate, given that it's your image and therefore your brand that's being sold for a pottage. It depends on the project, a student film is totally different from a commercial so one has to weigh up the pros and cons. Student films that pay NMW are ok in my book but an advert for a commercial company - absolutely not.

Hi,
Yes the job(s) in question was for a corporate entertainment role. The Mandy post directed potential applicants to the company website. However there was no opportunity to ask pay rates, prior to applying and the company website also did not detail the actual pay rate. I recollect that there used to be an opportunity when
applying to click on 'Comment on this' when previously applying for jobs, via this website. This was an opportunity for applicants to flag up questionable pay rates.

I think some castings have that comment button but not all of them. It's a bit cheeky to not put a rate - I suppose one way round it would be to apply and mention that, as they don't state an actual rate, your fee is ...

No, they completely got rid of the "Comment on the fee" feature whereby it went directly to the Employer. Now, if it appears at all, whatever you write merely goes to Mandy admin. Pointless.

I'm guessing the truth hurt a bit too much!

You’re right Rebecca, I’ve made some rather cutting remarks on that. Hey ho, lets not upset the casters eh? Actors a two a penny and they pay.
