Does anyone out there like me do this as their main job?
I would like to hear from anyone who has had problems with agents abusing the act.
None payment of gigs,DCharging you a fee and adding VAT and then finding out the agency has done the same to the venue so in effect have doubled up thier fee, when the act get low paid. Bad publicity etc.

Aye I see where you are coming form I did a gig again toniught in Fleetwood and they cant understand why the agents are not using me??
They said I was the best act they have had ..same old story again and again.
I used to do 2x45s for around £175 but as the show got more pro I put up the price and they pay! its just convincing the aganets to sell me that all!!!
Time really will tell!!

I have a Neuman mic. Which is fab. It has a wire. The wireless is about £1,200. It's absolutely lovely.
And, yes Andy I'd love to see your show. You should put your gig list up on your profile, then if Ihave a night off and you're local to me, I'd love to come down.

Nueman mics are great I use them in the studio (Caged and set in a spring?.
I am a sparks by trade so my interests in sound and light is a great help if anything goes wrong on stage I usually get it fixed in mins.

I know where you're coming from with the non-interest from the agents. Everywhere we go we they absolutely love us, immediately book us back. It's easy in the pubs, but when you get a club that's desparate to have you back and you can't get back in, it's not so good. Especially when you hear about the quality of some of the acts that end up playing there, you wonder about the judgment of some of these agents and their motives.
PS- SM58 for me every time!

Its so odd eh??
I cant make it out tho I did hear it affecting everyone but if we are honest we know in our hearts if we are good at what we do or not.
Some agents just look after thier "pets" but their pets ARE loosing them money!
SM58 iis tops but since I used that BEYER its incredible I will let you try it if you ever at one of my gigs. I was utterly convinced nothing would change me from a SM58... I was wrong!
