Hey everyone,

Just a question for my own curiosity really. What does everyone do when "resting"?

Teaching if possible. Generally better money than you get temping and most people are good about you being an actor first - i.e. if you gotta go, you gotta go!

My 'proper' job is I'm a journalist/writer, but I also work one day a week at the Natural History Museum in London which is the greatest fun.

I have trained and qualified as a personal trainer. Call it a plan B.

I am currently building up a client base at the moment and am offering my services at a credit crunch busting half the price of a normal PT!

Like Gilda I also do corperate role and
the occasional voice over job but my main job is as an advocate. I work with families affected by autism and work with them to ensure they get their rights and entitlements in health, education and social care.

I also run an evening group every Tuesday for teenagers with Asperger's Syndrome. This weekend I took them paintballing and am still counting the bruises!

Gilda, I noticed you say Medical role play, can you tell me how you get work please? I know some of it is at exam time when hospitals need role play patients for student doctors.

Cheers

I'm a sexual health researcher for a University, this all came from a temp job as a data-imputer!!! I get to have complete flexi-hours, I can take a whole week off and catch up another week, plus they know I will leave if I get my break can't say fairer than that, plus look after the Sexual Health of the nation. I've worked for universities before and they are pretty flexible. It means I also have time to work on my own projects.

I do webdesign and work for an insurance company 3 days a week. They allow me to be really flexible and take time off as I need it which is excellent! Trying to get into corporate role-play work too.
