Hi everyone. Does anyone know of a service in the uk which could just have a good look at my audio set up so that i can get it pristine. Just had the most frustrating 2 hours trying to work out why there was an occasional buzz like a mobile phone in proximity even though there wasnt.
There seem to be a lot of US companies that do it but i have as yet to find one here.
Hi Clare.
Hmmm. I have the same problem. Obviously you'll have to tell audition where you want to split the audio (we're in multitrack view here).
I put the whole audio track into track one. Pop the timeline right where i wanna snip, right click and hit 'split'. This cuts the clip. Then drag that down to the channel below. Repeat the proces until you have each clip on its own channel. Right click each clip and hit 'convert to unique copy'.
You can then batch save as separate files. They'll be numbered in order. just re name them afterwards, or just keep the file names as numbers.... I haven't found a quicker way to do this. Anyone?
Hi Darren
Interesting! I'm working in Edit mode and leaving / posing in silences as breaks and saving selections... Yawn!
I'll try your multitrack technique later this week when I'm in multiple file meltdown.!
While you're there.. I'm using Audition on Mac but in Parallels.. Reflects that you didn't used to be able to use it on Macs when i set it all up.. Higher stability running on Mac alone would you say?
:)
Absolutely. I used to run audition on windows on my mac with Boot Camp. Very unstable because the interfacing with your audio processor is not optimum. I found it out loads of clicks and pops on recordings. As soon as it was released for mac I did it straightaway... Perfect.
Great - thanks Darren.
Any views on whether CS6 would be a good buy over traditional v3?
I am not going for CC as I don't like their subscription model!
Literally ANY version of audition will do you fine. Before Adobe bought it, the program was called Cool Edit Pro. I still know people who still use the original version from 15 years ago because it's that good! It's an investment in a great product, produced for people like you and I. Perfect. I don't work for adobe by the way!! :))
I used to use it as cool edit too... I actually trained bbc reporters in Ghana to use it many years ago ;)
I'm considering cs6 as it's a bit more powerful but the downside is that I've heard it's not as intuitive
This may not be in the right category but here goes.
Until a few weeks ago, whenever I received email notification of a suitable voice job that matched my criteria, I could click on the box saying "Apply now" or "View all paid jobs" and it would automatically log me in. This would last a week before I was no longer automatically logged in. Suddenly this has stopped and I have to log in manually. Has anybody else found this or does anybody know why this has happened? (My subscription is valid until mid-May).
I have emailed the Mandy team twice to ask why this was so but they have not responded.

As part of a recent update, you will no longer be logged into your profile by clicking through from your Job alert emails. If you log into your account and then click on an alert link you should still be taken to the post without having to log in again. Once logged in you will also be able to switch between profiles via the 'Person' icon in the corner of your screen.

+ Able to "generate - silence" over any breaths so that the timing remains polished.
I'm using AT2020+ microphone with a filter surround and a foam backing surround to bring down as much background noise as possible.
An unrelated tip is that for my work separate to this I'm using voice-activated dictation software called Dragon Professional 15 which gives me huge amounts of time back to be able to do this stuff as well. You can see it by going to www.nuance.co.uk
I'm quite new to all of this and the technology has moved on significantly since I was doing voice-overs overseas many years ago.
Hope everyone is okay and it's great to see the forum so active.
