TTA appearing on my profile as my agent. Has this happened to anyone else?

David Kay

Checked my profile today to discover TTA listed as my agent.
I don't have an agent and have not heard from TTA about them representing me.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah lots of things have been messed up David, I’ve got an additional agent added on that I have no association with. Some of my reels have disappeared and my location has changed. I’ve spoken to Mandy they said it’s an issue with the site algorithm and they’re on it.

But it’s taking its time to be resolved.

I also had an issue with my location being suddenly shown incorrectly but I emailed Mandy on emails@mandy.com, and it was amended very quickly.
At that time I noted there was an issue with the agents function and it couldn’t be used. The response on this was ‘Regarding Agent connections, this has been temporarily disabled as we make some changes to the site behind the scenes, please be assured it will be re-enabled shortly.’ I’ve not checked it since.
I tried to post in the forum recently about receiving notifications for jobs that had already been closed but it’s not been added to the forum. Not sure if anyone else had experienced that too?

Yes I had 4 random agents listed that I have no association to. I have deleted them but not sure how or why they appeared!

Annoyingly my location has just reverted back to the incorrect one again! It was fine yesterday but I changed some skills yesterday and they haven’t saved and now I’m wondering whether changing something in my profile has for some reason triggered this error!? Very frustrating.

Hi Vanessa,

Yes many times I have submitted a post to the forum and, because it is pre moderated, someone at Mandy has blocked it - because the post was critical of Mandy.

Totally unprofessional behaviour. If they need to get to grips with the site - which they've been 'working on' for about a year now - why not close the site down for a month, refund that month's fee or charge only 11 months when renewing, and open again with everything working as it should be?

I've just been contacted by an 'agent' with the email 'stylecasternowselect@gmail.com'. I was daft enough to respond to them, and they sent me an 'opportunity'. This was a genuine casting call, but the gender of the character had been changed to male, because, of course, I am male, However, the name of the character was 'Violet' and other agencies listed her as female. In addition, the money quoted was at least four times the going rate, and my son, who does this sort of thing, checked out the email address and assures me it is connected to no bona-fide company. What is worrying about this situation, is that they could have avoided all the mistakes that they did make, and I would have given them my details - which they would then have along with my photo.

All my bits and bobs are there but the link to my agent is out of date and goes to a WIX message saying it's not connected. I told my agent and she tried to fix it but it still doesn't work.
I've sent yet another letter to Mandy but doubt if there will be any sensible response other than the usual 'we're working on it. How long does it take?
My letter:
Sorry guys but this is getting ridiculous.
The link to my agent's (Longrun Artistes) website is coming up with the wrong site - in fact it says that the site is unconnected. I attach a screenshot of the page the link goes to.
I've told my agent and she has tried to rectify it. But to no avail.
You really do have to get this wretched site fixed or you will be losing at least 50 percent of your acting clients.
While I'm here, can you not allow jobs paying well below the NMW/NLW - a legal requirement - at rates as insulting as £15.00 per day? These belong to "opportunities' and should be advertised as volunteer work with a small recompense for travel/food etc.
It really is not on guys.

Ian - I've also had posts deleted (critical of Mandy). They vet them because "As employers also read our forum we do not allow discussion of current jobs, as it may influence your chances of getting the position if you decide to apply." Clearly that's simply an excuse to wield their god-like power.

“User Generated Content” (UGC) the new euphemism for ‘go out & film it yourself without any help.

2 hours work maybe. Plus travel time? Prep time? Didn’t the old Mandy at least insist on a daily rate (even if still NMW/NLW)?

Plus, if they don’t actually post the rate you still have to go through the rigmarole of applying - and then declining.

It's a truly pathetic response from Mandy - in other words exactly what I would expect. There is nothing I despise more than the patronising "well you don't have to take the work" excuse for listing (or offering) insulting and exploitative rates of pay and/or making unreasonable demands. Those are the weasel words of a company which has zero interest in actor welfare. I'm not even going to dignify the UGC nonsense with any response.

Thanks for flagging this. I checked my profile and I too have had an agent I am not with added, how odd so have deleted. I did have all my photos and reels in the wrong places a few weeks ago but I have sorted that out (took ages). Mandy really needs to be giving us some kind of compensation for the utter shambles that's going on.

Their excuse is that things go wrong when they 'migrate' accounts to the new platform. I would think using a professional to do this would eliminate these problems. Perhaps they're trying to save money by doing it themselves, or getting someone in who knows a bit about it.
