Just out of interest - does anyone tweet?

I started a while ago but cannot seem to get any followers - it may be that i am just sad, dull and boring or posting rubbish tweets.

If any of you can give me some ideas and how successful you are - it would be great.

Ta!

I'm on it, and really enjoy it. Tad too addictive though.
I found it great for marketing the last show I was in and it keeps me in the creative loop.
I keep fb for friends and family, twitter and linkedin are for people I don't know that well or at all.

My twitter is @audsters

I've just found a combination of twitter and my blog rather useful in resolving problems and promoting shows etc.. and generally raising my profile a bit.

Activated my twitter account some weeks ago and I simply adore it, so much more than FB. Follow me and my multiple personalities on: @jwambaa and we'll return the favour.

Twitter is a great addition to all social media sites! I've made great contacts with actors, theatre companies & tweeps all over the country (& the world) with whom I wouldn't have done previously! It's perfect for promoting your work, getting to know other people's work & being involved immediately in a world wide conversation when something is happening! It's also highly amusing, entertaining & thought provoking most of the time. I guess you have to follow people to get followers? Also, having an opinion, a sharp wit & some generosity of spirit helps! Looking forward to hearing from all you lovely tweeple!

I absolutely agree Paula. I've been making the effort on twitter recently and quite enjoying networking. Going to be meeting a few of my tweeple at the Fringe- apparently I'm owed a drink or two... can't pass that offer up. Plus it'll be good to do a bit of face-to-face with people I've been reading about for the last few weeks.

I like it, but paradoxically seem to tweet mostly about the things that annoy me about Twitter. Well, that or random thoughts, which is what I think it should be for.

It has its uses definitely, but makes people behave strangely.

ok I'm following, I dont check twitter very often and even when I do I find it all a bit overwhelming and dont really know whats going on, just a bit like insane spamming lol, but maybe it would make more sence if I logged in more, but how much time can you allocate to each new fangled networking thingamebob?

I have now been using it for a couple of months and I'm slowly getting the hang of it. It is brilliant for networking, and for promoting shows, finding auditions and so on. I think you have to dedicate a bit of time to it each day, add it into your jobbing actor searching for work routine. I follow people that are in the industry and I unfollow anyone that tweets utter rubbish all the time. xx

Hey Cally

Hope you're busy!

I obviously don't tweet too much rubbish, as you are still following me - hooray!!

I started out with one follower when I first posted the initial thread a zillion years ago and I am now up to 83 I think!

Catherine Stobbs (lovely lady!) started me off as my first follower and is still there (thanks Catherine).

I've realised twitter is a great tool (I've even had the Lord Mayor of Lowestoft send me a tweet!!) to keep you in the minds of people whether good or bad (look at Joey Barton!).

Keep using it (sensibly) as I think in time, it will outstrip all others (including facebook, which I deleted some months ago!!)

Lots of love xx

I am trying to restrict my tweets to acting related comments and in particular to network/promote. So if you want to receive my tweets on my forthcoming tour of Underneath The Lintel follow me @Moriatyactor.
