What's Twitter?

It's marginally useful to find out what's going on in a world you can only dream of inhabiting and quite fun to drop in a wry comment from time to time.

I'm @mikehenley1. By the way.

Following you all now @SuzannaHughes I've found twitter pretty good so far, only been on since christmas and have won new headshots and been invited to audition for a casting directors agency. So I think it can be very fine indeedy

@AllisonSaxton would be interested to know just how useful people have found it. I use it for other purposes than networking mostly.

@catherinestobbs

There are quite a few other threads if you have a search. People often post castings on twitter, take a look at people similar to you and see if they follow any casting directors etc. Also becareful in terms of what you tweet if you want to use it as a professional tool.

I follow you all now! Couldn't find Allison though :( I'm @VickiGlover26. I find it useful to promote shows and see what theatre companies are up to, and if you promote yourself as an actor on there you can sometimes get auditions out of it; I got an audition with Planet Rabbit Productions and am now doing a small (paid) tour with them!

Latest tweets:

Husband over the moon with Tesco economy cornflakes. Can life get any better?

Apparently so. Also excited about economy weetabix.

Although claims. They are "a bit pasty "

Let's not drop the momentum now. @farah

I follow amongst others, Hollywood actor/director/writer Edward Burns. He announced one evening on his twitter feed that he had bought the screen rights to a book ( the name escapes me). Just for a laugh I asked him were there any parts for hardy looking Irishmen. Imagine my shock about ten mins later when he replied that he would keep me in mind and started following me! Most likely nothing will come from it but it does I think, show the potential of social media.

That's great Glen. And why shouldn't there be parts for you - or any of us?

We are actors afterall.
