Unpaid Offers
I have started to get loads of offers of unpaid work which I hardly got at all before. Has something changed in the formatting so that it looks as if I would be up for unpaid work because I have only described myself as accepting paid work only.

Off topic, i do think we need to start doing things like the US.
In what way Adam? This site has been taken over by an American conglomerate called Backstage and it has deteriorated consistently since then.
Two job offers today - both student films and both unpaid. I specifically say NO unpaid work and yet, like the Martian, still they come. I've asked the students to contact Mandy as Mandy consistently fails to answer our questions.
I've just started another thread entitled To the powers that be. This is what I said - I'm putting it here as well because I imagine the power that be will delete it and give me some platitude of a reason.
"Why am I getting UNPAID work when I deliberately specify I DON'T DO UNPAID WORK. It would be so nice to get a straight answer to this - and other questions I have raised and, there are very many other actors on this site who would appreciate the same.
Is this the American way? To ignore questions in the hope they go away?"
Please, everyone, following two posts today offering 30-40 pounds per day, let the posters know that, if the day is a normal 8-10 hours, then they are acting illegally by paying well below NMW/NLW. I've written to two of them today but if everyone did this, then perhaps they would stop. It is SO depressing.
This is really getting ridiculous - £30/£40 a day! Several months ago I did tweet the news outlet that reported on the original Backstage takeover suggesting they cover the clusters*ck this website became afterwards. Sadly, It seems they didn't do so. Does anyone know if StarNow has become just as useless?
I’m not on Star Now. I’ve had a nice response from one of the posters but still, the day is six hours. She said she thought Mandy would let her know if the pay wasn’t right. I told her Mandy didn’t really care about actors.
That's the problem - THEY DON'T CARE. Simple as that. I can't imagine there are an overwhelming total number of posts per day, so why not take the time to vet them? It would save headaches, stress and the immense bad feelings towards this website.
Everyone please refuse any work that pays under National Minimum Wage it is a legal requirement for all employers including student films that actors be paid at least NMW of £10.42 per hour. Please do not accept work that pays less than this. A film that pays £50 per day for a 10 hour day is paying £5 per which is under half NMW. Unless we all fight for correct pay and refuse to work for less than NMW these changes will never happen so please do fight for our rights and the pay we deserve.

That’s the problem, Nick. If ‘we’ all did that (those that read this post) it might reach… a few dozen? Probably less than 1% of Mandy members (that’s just a guess, of course). Without a dedicated -to-user forum where we can communicate, it’s almost impossible to get people on board. Even here we have to resort to posting on existing threads because Mandy monitors new patent posts.
I notice Equity lists Mandy as one of the 'perks' of membership with a reduction in member fees. I want them to take it off. If we all write to Equity asking for Mandy to be removed, then maybe something will be done. Mind you, I'm not holding my breath. As with inappropriate job on my job page here, Spotlight are now sending me job alerts for tech, backstage and wardrobe work. They were taken over recently. I wonder if that's by an American outfit too.

No unpaid but if I put it on a new thread, it will be deleted. What is it with these new contracts? I keep seeing this wording and, given the danger of AI for using our image. alarm bells are ringing for me - digital media?:
