HELLSBELLS !!
I often look at profiles at 4 am as that when I come in from gigs!!
Why is it so bad to look at profiles at 4am??
TUT TUT you should know in this game!!!
I just found it weird to think of someone doing a search in the middle of the night. I suppose though, often, the unregistered views are other CCP members who have logged out to have an anon peek...
x
In the name of research, I have just googled Totty Nude.
i I had to trawl through 6 pages before it got to me.
My point is, these people must have an awful lot of time on their hands to trawl through the pages. Almost as much time as me probably.
Having the name Totty, obviously means that their are more connections to nude than most names...hot totty, posh totty as so on.
So I don't know how that makes me feel that nobody has mmm come across sarah totty nude!!!! lol
How do you find out what people have typed into search engines to find your profile? Mine just keeps coming up saying Unregistered User and then either found by castingcallpro.com (which I'm assuming's through this website, haha) but other than that nothing underneath it! Am I missing something? xxx
Its all about how one words your profile. Under "Professional actor" in Google my own website comes up No 11 out of 290,000 alternatives for those search words. So this thread, whilst very funney, also highlights the serious issues for those with a website wanting to get to the top of google.
Check carefully what you write in your website title, the description of the meta tags as well as the body text of the page.
Same on CCP....if your profile text matches someones search words in google....up you pop!!
Another even more serious issue might be ...should "unregistered" users be able to view our full profiles inc our Phone Nos? I guess its more useful for actors that they can....but do all take lots of care in handing out your Phone No's and meeting up for Castings etc....particually you ladies.
It highlights the fact, that anyone...anywhere can see us and our personal details on line these days.
I did not want to ruin the fun of this thread....but just wanted to give a little little warning for us all to take care.
Editorial Comment Quick note(s): 1. Unregistered users can't see contact details. 2. Many members use their profile almost as their own website - i.e. to refer people to it and promote themselves. You can, however, change the setting in contact details to stop search engine picking up the profile.
Thanks to both Mark and the Editor for some extremely helpful comments on what I started a a frivolous thread.
The point about keywords in extremely significant, and I wonder if, the next time CCP upgrade its website, the following enhancement might be considered:
A box for members to write in up to, say, 15 keywords, which would be invisible on the site but would affect Google etc searches: much as one does when uploading to YouTube and so on.
Is there not a part on the C/C web page where you can tick so only registered or full memembers can only see you full details?
If not we should all get together and stipulate this.
Just like BEBO and FACEBOOK only "full memembers" can see the full details of the person.
Lets face it producers directors or casting agencies dont need to see this info anyway as thats why we pay our monthly subcrictions to Casting Call to do all the e-mailing them and us ????
I may be wrong like!
so dont all have a go!!!
Forgive me for joining this conversation just as it starts to get intelligent, but it seems to me we're more likely to get viewed if we have the word 'nude' in our profiles????
Unregistered users are kind of spooky, but at the same time the profiles are online to get viewed. You can hide your personal contact details. I only put my mobile number down in the covering letter when applying for a casting.
I had a viewing and the search was under "christine hounslow nude." They got me through the ccp profile - I think it is the question "perform nude"? so my name and nude tied up - but why would anyone specifically search for christine hounslow nude? At my age ? Should I be flattered or worried ? :-)
