Vimeo or Youtube?

I had an agent want to see a clip of me today so she could hear my natural accent and she couldn't open it on her computer so I uploaded it to my Vimeo page. I'm a video artist as well as an actor and it did occur to me that I should maybe find a different way as my artist videos are somewhat outre :D but I took the risk..

Anyway, long story short - as soon as she went on my Vimeo page all interest was gone. It was very strange, like when you're getting on really well with someone and they just get up and leave. So, I guess I have to find a separate social media site for my acting videos.

Which do you use? Vimeo or Youtube?

I have all my acting stuff on Youtube, but I set the privacy to "Unlisted" which means only those with a link can view it. It can't be searched.

Vimeo also has that functionality, but Vimeo requires paid subscription if you want to upload a fair bit. The one good thing about Vimeo is that viewers don't have to sit through adverts.

In all honesty, I don't think your choice of Youtube or Vimeo affects the decision of others. Just choose one and stick with it. I've stuck with Youtube because it's free and very easy to use.

Thanks. I was hoping that Vimeo would do sub pages but they don’t so I guess it’ll have to be You Tube as I don’t want to pay twice
