Not sure if this is a current bug with the Mandy website, or whether updates have been in progress for some time, but is anyone else noticing the following...
It happens mainly when I view my Mandy profile without being logged in, but sometimes it happens when I AM logged in and click "View Profile". The formatting is completely different! The reviews aren't condensed/collapsed....they're laid out in full in a list format. Photographs are the same. New reviews don't have a date, just a "0" and are listed at the bottom.
And then the credits. My 2020 credits are not in the order that I put them in, they're all switched around.
So it just looks a bit untidy, compared to normal. If Mandy is "doing a Spotlight", and experimenting with a website upgrade...this one looks a bit dodgy to me.
Editorial Comment Hello Lewis,
I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with the formatting of your profile. We have had a recent update to the system. New reviews should still appear with the correct date attached, however, please do contact us at emails@mandy.com if your new review is not showing correctly.
It's gone beyond bloody ridiculous, now - almost an entire month since these issues began. It would be bad enough if we were being fobbed off by stupid excuses but most people are being point-blank ignored by Mandy at this stage. As someone mentioned way earlier, normally this thread wouldn't be allowed to continue - they obviously don't give a flying proverbial about any of this. This gives rise to feelings of absolutely not being in control of your own work process. Plus, all seems quiet on the Twitter front...
The fury is rising and, if I get another UNPAID job notification, I think my laptop will sprout wings!
Thanks for reaching out! During the course of making some improvements to our site, an issue with our email notification system has occurred. We're aware of it and are working very hard to fix it as soon as possible.
We updated our job board regularly with the latest paid jobs and opportunities. Please do log into Mandy.com to view jobs suitable for you.
My sincere apologies in the meantime, and thank you for your continued patience.
I'm glad you at least got a response, Christopher, though that first part (about fixing it as soon as possible) has been the go-to response for most people for almost a month.
Do you get the feeling that Mandy is going to be closed down but with the option to be on a different platform but one actually run by Backstage? Such a shame that something that started out really well, and off the back of another successful platform, has come to t his. Sad.
Toni, it certainly sounds and looks like Mandy is being consumed by Backstage - I never liked Backstage's format and Mandy's was quite user-friendly but it's morphing into the former. Sad to say you may indeed be right.
In response to Ian's point about Producres and CDs, I've now seen at least one production company that used to cast on here - one that in fact cast me via Mandy about a year ago - putting briefs out on Spotlight instead. So, yeah, the absolute incompetence of the Backstage takeover and its impact is being noticed by them too.
So what’s happening now with jobs? Only one new one today. I even changed the playing age just to see if there were jobs for younger people. Just the same one. Have casters finally abandoned the sinking ship?
Missed a next-day audition due to a late email. It was received 20 hours AFTER it was sent. How can our fees be justified if we can't get the jobs? It's tough enough as it is.
I haven’t had daily job notifications for over 4 weeks. This seems to have been stopped completely. Just like Toni, the jobs have dried up. I think even prospective employers have had enough. I have now added to my ‘jobs letter’ a sentence in ‘Capital Letters’ that any job I might be lucky enough to get a response from, the employer should email me directly and not through Mandy so that I don’t lose work like Ingrid has.
I have just seen Mandy are offering free time for reviews, a link is on the dashboard.
Leave a review, take a screenshot and email it to them..
They may regret this
Could be worth a shot, David, though it may well be met with the same response to other posts in other places.
I finally got a response on Twitter to my post regarding the problems, etc. and reminding them that this was not the free version of Mandy. Got this reply... We’re sorry to hear you’re having a problem. We’re taking this issue seriously and are taking steps to improve our service. Please contact us at emails@mandy.com with more information concerning your problem.
I'm so sick of generated responses! I hit back that I, like scores of others, had indeed emailed them.
They're just kicking the can down the road (if that's the right metaphor).
Luckily, I was only paying for the monthly sub, so have been able to cancel it. It is absolutely scandalous - perhaps it's time that Equity and The Stage were informed?
