Any great recommendations

RAYANNA DIBS

Hi there,

I am looking to get some new heradshots done and have done my research, but thought I would rely on good old fashioned word of mouth and see if anyone knows any great photographers off the top of their head, or has had a good experience/session?

Thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks
Raya

I've just been to Tim Scragg. It was the most relaxed photo session I've ever had. Tim had researched my previous headshots, and took a lot of time to find the right angles. End result: I look like me on a good day!
He's also extremely competitively priced and gives you all the shots . Plus a bit of touching up if you wish,

I HIGHLY reccomend Michael Sissons. Just had new shots done with him and putting up on here tonight. He's priced far too low for the quality of his work (so take advantage before he realises), he's lovely and friendly (so you feel at ease), and he makes excellent coffee! Nuff said really. Get onto it. Email him at msissons@btinternet.com

Ha....its amazing how so many different photographers area all so great! It's a hard one this because it's so subjective.

What you should do is exactly what you are doing…research and yes of course personal recommendation is important.

However, I would check out similar actresses to yourself, age and type etc and look….and see who's photos you think are really good and like. Which of those are striking and or stick out in your mind….then check the photographer's name?

Have you talked it through with your agent and who they like…..not always the ideal choice but worth a chat.

Then you def need to make sure you like the photographer, and know you will get on with them at the sitting….you should get a good feel for that if you chat to them on the phone or go to see them….also check the price and what you get….how long they put aside for the sitting and how long they will take to turn around the pictures Importantly on price, check if you are getting a CD of High resolution digital shots for you to chose your favourites from or how much the snapper will charge to get you the desired 10x8's

A good picture is vital…..you don't get a second chance to make a first impression!

I would Highly recommend Paul Barrass, he recently done my headshots in September and I've been getting castings and filming ever since. Some really great pictures.
