Bring back starred jobs!

Is anyone else struggling to keep track of the roles they are interested in/have applied for since Mandy moved over to the dreadful Backstage-style job listings?

Yes I've just spotted this. Mandy, please could you bring back the ability to save certain jobs you're interested in. It was extremely useful and the reduction in features to the jobs feed is quite frustrating.

Yes took me a while to spot this too. I do miss this feature.

Absolutely, I miss the starred jobs feature it did help me save a job for the next day or what have you and also I don’t know what it is but in the Mandy e-mails and on the jobs board I don’t think locations are that clear now. I think Mandy is in danger of sucking now. Bring back starred jobs and the old format of Mandy I say.

This for me was the absolute best feature of Mandy. It meant I could star jobs which needed a self-tape and then come back to them as a grouped bunch of jobs later. Now I'll have to bookmark instead which is frankly a pain. I hate change!

Couldn't agree more. When I first noticed the loss of the star feature, back in April, I emailed customer support at Mandy and got this reply:
'Due to our recent ongoing migration, the starred jobs function has been removed. We greatly appreciate your feedback around our new site changes, whenever we update our site there's always a period of adjustment and refinement, and your feedback helps us get things absolutely right. I've passed your comments on directly to our development team, and they'll be looking at incorporating them in the next round of updates.'

Doesn't look like we'll get the star function back any time soon. Might be worth us keep reminding them though.
I am finding it very annoying having to go back and search for jobs again, or bookmarking, when we just used to have them all in one place to go back to.

Agreed we need the star function back! Why take it away? There should be more options to remove jobs we have no interest in not make it even harder to see those we are!

Losing this feature is such a shame as are the terrible emails that hit my inbox hours after the jobs have been posted, the filter function doesnt work properly on the desktop site and the quality of jobs and fees overall seemed to have taken a real nose dive! The backstage takeover has shown zero positives for talent. Contact admin and you'll just recieve an unhelpful generic response. After 15yrs on CCP/Mandy, this has got to be the worst its ever been!

We owe it to others to honestly review Backstage/Mandy on all their Social Media presence - otherwise people will join, and pay, based on Mandy pre-takeover, and therefore portrayed under false pretences.

I agree and I notice too that I am getting emails for totally unsuitable jobs. This just clogs up the day.

It used to be simple and now it's frustrating and confusing.

Hi All,
I was also sad to see starred jobs go but I just found a work around that I thought I’d share.
If you see a job that you would normally have starred, apply (first step only) using any previous cover letter/attachment. At this point when it allows you to preview the application, (make sure you don’t press send) & return to your dashboard. It will appear in the unsent applications section and you can a list of jobs you can edit and send with correct cover letters & new self tapes, similar to before. Hope this helps :)

I miss the filtering on the dashboard. In the past it only showed jobs that were relevant to me so it was a quick check to see if anything new had popped up that I could apply for. Now you have to go to the jobs page and filter manually every single time. There are definitely fewer jobs now. They pay less. The details on pay, shoot dates etc often change after you've applied to them and I've had a few applications that weren't even viewed once which never used to happen.
Overall fewer jobs, harder to find them, less tracking feedback on current applications and sometimes you've no idea whether you actually applied to something real or not. Huge drop in functionality and value for money.

I’m really disappointed in the whole changeover. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” An old cowboy told me once.
I definitely will not be renewing at this rate:
Less jobs, not just student films but also so many short films offering no pay, exploitation is rife and the whole site has become non-user friendly. It’s a shame because I used to get quite a bit of work from Mandy and I also advertise for my own Company. I believe they have made a big mistake and will start to see many actors moving away to other social media applications if they aren’t already.
Very disappointing!

“Feature Film…”. Featuring NO PAY

Also how is it going to work if a daily rate is not quoted? And no I am not going to do a role for £10.63p an hour - video and corporate TV is not theme park work

So many roles offered but by the time you’ve waded through them ….
