No more Opportunities and this Latest Jobs page is still broken

Hello. I'm not sure how to do this without it being a novella.
For starters, and this was really annoying, there was a job this morning on my dashboard and latest jobs page that wasn't there at 10pm last night, but it is still labelled as being entered on the 9th. I don't have a screenshot as I didn't know I would need one. this is not the first time. when it first happened, I attributed it to the ongoing issues regarding merging with Backstage. It is still happening and it does not make me comfortable using this page anymore. I am constantly wondering if I am missing a job.

Second, searching by gender does nothing. I did it this morning. I seached male, and 2nd from the top was a job for a US Female. I refreshed, and did the search a few times. I have a screenshot of this.

Finally, the opportunities section is empty. Unless people have stopped supplying them, the pro bono job opportunities are not being posted. If someone believes these jobs are not important just because there is no financial recompense, please think again.

PS- I am still getting jobs from my close account, even though someone in tech support went into the account and made sure all email notifications were disabled.

Currently, I would not recommend Mandy to anyone. In regard to the issues that are still very prevalent, I have received 2 generic emails stating we are working on it, that used my email name and were not signed, and a couple more direct emails stating things were being worked on.

Here is the problem. When you charge money for your service, your customers aren't really concerned with why it doen't work... just that it doesn't work and they aren't getting they service they paid for. Don't get me wrong, most of the site seems to be up and running. It's the things that are not, like random jobs appearing on your dashboard a day late, that have me concerned.
If you would like the screenshot of the search engine malfunction just get in touch.
I hope these things are fixed soon. If not, will Mandy be providing a discount for lost services?

Editorial Comment Hi there, thank you for your post, we can support you on this issue please emails emails@mady.com

please check the submitted support email. I believe there is a typo. It's a little thing, but it's like the things listed in my post. Not quite fixed yet. And I'm not sure about inhouse notifications, whether they sent out a reply alert as I was not alerted to this response. Thank you for posting my novella, though as I'm sure I'm not the only one experiences flux with the site.

Hi, there.

I have a similar issue (I think).
I recently updated my notifications - clicking 'Yes' to Instant Notifications which was previously 'No'. Since then (around April 22nd), I no longer receive the emails from Mandy Actors UK with Paid Job Match which I had always received. I now only receive notifications from 'Mandy' and they are mostly completely irrelevant to me (wrong gender, wrong accent, age, etc.) and the large majority of them are unpaid.
How do I get what I used to receive? Or has Mandy changed the whole notification process? I also feel that I am missing out on potential jobs.

On a slightly similar note to something else Kasper mentioned above, I received an email on Saturday from a casting director who was representing The Actor's Cafe. It was a generic intro and offer of a free taster class on Monday. It asked us to 'get back' to him or check the website if interested. I replied to his email on Sunday with some questions but when I checked for his reply on Monday, the original email had disappeared from my inbox. My reply is in my Sent folder but no trace of his original. What is going on?

Hey Amanda.
I believe every voice artist is getting "performer" notifications. I've moved them to a folder called Mandy Spam. I've been sent 2 emails telling me the issue is fixed, but well....
did you get the email through Mandy? the one about the Actor's Cafe? it's a legit group that does method teaching I think, but it is an acting group and not a voice over group. Again, you might have got caught in a just being fixed scenario, although I wonder if there are other Mandy VO clients receiving acting bumf in there email.

I do notice your profile says ACTOR Amanda. Is that on purpose, or do you have a separate VO account. that would partially explain why you are getting "performer" job alerts. That is the category your profile is registered in if it says Actor. I had a similiar issue. My initial Mandy account was an ACTOR profile, but I switched over to VO about 4 years ago. It is a separate entity. I had to log in and tell my Acting account to stop sending me job postings.

In regard to receiving email notifications, I got notified that you had replied to this post (but not that an editorial comment had been added), I still get, "your file is live" messages, "you've been viewed" messages and I have received a couple of daily summary emails even though all my settings say, right here, right now. it would be interesting to find out if any other VO folks are receiving any notifications.

Thank you for addressing this Kasper, I am not liking the New Mandy, I had just got used to using the old Mandy and felt confident, now I do not know if I am coming or going!!

Wendy, I know exactly what you mean. I am feeling the same way. A personal issue is that I don't seem to know what they are fixing, so I don't know what I'm waiting for. I am concerned that some jobs aren't appearing in a timely manner. I think a little heads up from the team that would have let us subscribers know what has happened, what is happening and what will happen would have been welcome.

Hi, Kasper
Thanks for your reply. To be honest, I web-searched the issue for Mandy notifications as I couldn't find anything on the site and your post came up first. I hadn't realised it was for the Voiceover account. It does sound, though, that very similar issues are happening across the board with Mandy.
It's funny but, after I posted the above (and after I direct-messaged Mandy last night) I have suddenly begun to receive the old Mandy Actor UK emails again - definitely something fishy going on.
Regarding the Actor's Cafe email, yes that came straight to my Mandy profile inbox, which is why they need to answer why it was later removed.
I should also add that, when I posted the above, I thought I was creating a new problem post for them to react to... possibly asking too much? :)

P.S.
Scratch that bit about me suddenly receiving job posts from Mandy Actor UK - it was 3 notification messages about this thread!

well goodness. i guess everyone, actor and vo alike, have there "I'll audition for anything" button enabled. hopefully that will be sorted soon. To be honest, I thought I was filling in a tech support gripe, and I ended up on general chat. If I had known I was going to end up here I might have worded things differently, but I'm glad it's being addresses. Mandy has been quite good, but this new changeover has not gone over well. it's just a matter of not liking change... it's more along the lines of... why? I understand from a friend of mine that was receiving different tech support that someone deleted something they shouldn't have and there was a lot more work to do, but this new Mandy (bot emails and all) doesn't seem to be hitting the previous benchmark.

Glad it's not just me, Kasper. I think their preference is that you email them via the Contact Us page. I had already done that and just wanted to get some other people's views and experience.
What's your general experience of the VO Mandy site? I'm breaking into VO myself but didn't want to pay for two accounts till I saw how useful one was.
I hope things get sorted for you and I wish you all the best, Kasper. :)

That's a tough one Amanda. Well, actually, not really, most of Mandy was very transparent with it's auditions. There was only one thing I was enlightened by that I thought was a bit naughty. The URGENT tag on a job has nothing to do with the client. it's Mandy's way of telling talent the job is about to expire. Acting is the same as VO: the sooner you do the job the better. Anyone who is being reminded the job is about to expire is not really doing it right. there are numerous reasons why someone can't audition right away, but the longer you wait, the lesser your chances. So this feature I thought was a bit misleading.
i digress.
The workflow on the site was pretty good. you knew you what you had applied for, the type of job and gender was right up front. If anything there was always a slight delay btwn the Latest Jobs page and the dashboard. Also, emails were normally sent out at least 30min after the job was posted.
Now, well, there are no notification emails (disregarding the performer emails) except for summaries. And those are sporadic. Jobs appear the next day, claiming to have been posted the day before. The gender search button is not functioning, and the jobs themselves are hidden behind an extra step you need to click on. These are all first world problems, but when you are used to a certain workflow and those things are changed and you are not told what was being changed , it affects your process.
I have the impression things are being fixed, but that doesn't help when they are broken. People are working hard. I'm sure of it. The issue comes to play that when you charge for your service, but then don't provide it, for whatever reason, your client base will not be happy. I'll say it again, a heads up email that is letting everyone know what the issues are and when they might be fixed would go a long way.
In April, I was quite happy with Mandy's service. May... I am not. The reason? it is affecting my job. I am a freelance Voice over artist. That's it. This site is tied into my job. If it is no longer going to function, I may have to consider my options.
Ooops. Almost tripped on the soapbox there. Let's just put that away.... Amanda, all the best to you as well. Have a great week.

Thanks for the heads-up, Kasper. It seems to be the same or similar problems with the Acting site - you've just reminded me that I haven't even received a summary (which used to arrive at the end of the day after the original posts) since 21st April.
I really see your frustration given that your livelihood is connected to the functionality of the site. I don't blame you for rethinking your options - I'm almost certainly not going to be renewing my subscription in August.
Let's hope it all gets sorted, soon.
All the best, Kasper, and enjoy the rest of your week, too.

Hello - I agree with all of the above and have sent emails to Mandy saying so. Unpaid jobs, jobs that are irrelevant to me - all my preferences seemingly now ignored. I specifically asked Mandy how to reset preferences and got no reply. So ..... hello everyone at Mandy - now is your chance to reply!!

Good to hear from you Viv. I think if we can help get things done it will go a long way. I think the main thing that's come out of chats like these is that everyone, actors and vo alike, are having problems, so it is not limited to our section of the field. Mandy is obviously aware of this and are probably being inundated with requests and complaints.

oh, on that note, though I made light of the typo above, the most efficient way to point out issues you are concerned with is to use this email: emails@mandy.com

Hopefully, someone in the know with Mandy with take the time to create a pinned forum post that explains what has been happening and what is going to happen. then they can very easily send out a form email or mandy email directing our attention to it. I'm assuming it's easy. If it's not, then that's another thing that should be addressed.

Myself, I've had my say. I hope others will have their say as well. I don't think there is anything else I can add to this topic. As I mentioned, I originally didn't even think I was posting in the the general chat, but hopefully people have realized it's not just them. i hope people also realize that the Mandy team are working hard, they just aren't handling this very well. I've had a couple phone conversations with Mandy tech support that were very positive. and I've received a couple of generic emails that were obviously written by a bot, which did not leave me feeling positive as they did not address the issue.

I have other things in the world to worry about. I'll now watch and wait and contemplate. The planet doesn't stop spinning if I don't get my notification emails....

Thanks for posting Kasper.

Frankly, I'm surprised that your topic got through the pre moderation employed by the administrators.

I have tried to post, twice now, a topic regarding why we are now getting star now spam emails, and each time this hasn't got through the pre moderation - Mandy aren't exactly open, and this isn't exactly an open forum

It's almost as if Mandy didn't know how their site work beforehand, and are unable to rectify the problems.

And experiencing the same problems as you and of the others that are posted.

As of now, Mandy is an underperforming and ineffective paid for service.

No end of customer complaint and us raising issues will do anything.

They, Mandy, as the custodians of the service, must surely have known how the system worked, and how it isn't working now.

To resolve the problem, they must just roll back the tech changes one step at a time, because whatever it is is they have changed and implemented is just not working.

Well put Ian, thanks. As to the rubbish from Star Now - yes, I'm getting that too and I also have no understanding as to why that is.

Hi to all the above. I have just one word to say about this mess, ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!! The whole thing is a shamble. There is a maxim, "If it ain't broke don't fix it." So what's happened? They've tried to fix it and broke it. There are lots of things we are all steamed up about and Ian dropped me a line about it over the weekend. I am still getting auditions specifically stating f/m voice. I know I don't sound like Morgan Freeman but come on. So, yes it is blatantly obvious that there is significant disquiet among the rank and file of us, perhaps many not saying anything but are very frustrated, so c'mon Mandy peeps, stick your heads over the parapet and talk to us. As to the spam approaches I've not received any. Yet.

For me, I’ve not submitted a demo at all in couple of months because I find it so inaccessible. I used to submit daily and keep on top of things.
Which means having bought the year subscription plan before the changes I’m pretty angry with myself that I can’t just opt out for a few months while this is all happening.

I totally agree Hollie this situation is getting ridiculous. I agree with everyone's comments. How many people on this forum will it take for Mandy to at least communicate 'something' to assure us all that these changes will be beneficial to us in the long run?

I'm in agreement too.

The main issue for me (though there are of course multiple others) is the alerts! Or rather the lack, inconsistency and massive delay on the ones that actually do get through. I had an alert yesterday to audition for a job that I actually completed last week. This morning I had one for a job that had been posted as 'urgent' days ago and have as yet had none for the vast majority of voiceover jobs I see listed when doing regular checks for 'latest jobs'.

We shouldn't have to keep popping in and out to check the listings, and the mess up on alerts really makes me wonder how many of the available jobs are actually displayed there anyway.

Surely a significant extension to our subscription period is due following this ongoing disruption?
